Herman Cain Wins Florida Straw Poll With 37% Of the Vote

Wow! I KNEW Herman would do well, and his winning in the Florida straw poll just proves his message is ringing through to everyday Americans. As someone who has known Herman Cain for a while now as I live in Atlanta, I knew he had the “right stuff” to go all the way. Dismiss him if you will, but Herman Cain is a force to be reckoned with. America would be a far better country with Herman Cain as president.

Herman Cain

According to the Washington Times article, Cain won 37% of the votes cast. Cain’s partial statement:

“Thank you to the Republican voters for this incredible honor of being named the winner of the Presidency 5 straw poll in Florida today,” Mr. Cain said. “This is a sign of our growing momentum and my candidacy that cannot be ignored. I will continue to share my message of ‘common-sense solutions’ across this country and look forward to spending more time in Florida, a critical state for both the nomination and the general election.”

GO, HERMAN GO!

Herman Cain’s Iowa Straw Poll Speech (VIDEO)

From the Straw Poll in Ames, Iowa today. Herman Cain really knows how to fire up a crowd. If you are from Atanta, you really know the power and intellect of Herman Cain. He may be derided as “only” being the CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, but he is an accomplished businessman who knows what he’s talking about. I hope he can go far in the primaries, and I would hope if he doesn’t win them that he would at least be considered for someone’s VP pick.

Some say his lack of political experience is a negative. To that I say, “how’s that ‘political experience’ in the current White House working out for us now?” Not very well, I’d say. Plus, when are we going to realize that America is a business, and should be run by a business person, not a politician? I hope sooner rather than later, for the sake of our children and grandchildren.

New Entrant To the 2012 GOP Primary, Thaddeus McCotter Speaks With Bret Baier (VIDEO)

Also from the Ames, Iowa Straw Poll event today. Michigan Congressman, Thaddeus McCotter, made it official he’s seeking the nomination to be the GOP candidate to run against Obama in 2012. He sat down with FNC’s Bret Baier for a brief interview after today’s event.

For those of you unfamiliar with McCotter’s personality, just Google “Thad McCotter” and “RedEye.” He’s acquitted himself quite well there, as someone who’s a serious candidate, as well as an uber-intellectual. Oh, and did I mention how hip he is? Again I encourage you to Google for videos of his appearances on various programs. He’s late to the game, but he’s definitely not a flake. I wish him well, and like Herman Cain, I think he would make a great cabinet pick for the GOP winner in 2012. He’s a serious guy, but not too serious. He’s got the political and policy chops to do big things in the future for the country.

He may not do anything big in 2012, but he’s definitely a rising GOP star.
