…What Col. West Said! ‘Shut Your Mouth; War Is Hell!’

I’ve been stewing on this and stewing on this figuring out the right way to convey how I feel about it, and I’ve been struggling with just the right words to describe my sentiment. I read a fabulous screed by Deebow over at BlackFive, but it wasn’t until I saw the headline in a Weekly Standard piece today that quoted Lt. Col. Allen West (R-FL) on this matter. I couldn’t have said it better myself:

‘Shut Your Mouth, War Is Hell’

Cong. Lt. Col. AllenWest
Yes, you got that right. Congressman West has weighed in on this flap over the Marines taking a piss on dead Taliban terrorists, sending an email to the Weekly Standard, who got his permission to print what he said. Here’s a portion of his commentary:

“All these over-emotional pundits and armchair quarterbacks need to chill. Does anyone remember the two Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division who were beheaded and gutted in Iraq?

“The Marines were wrong. Give them a maximum punishment under field grade level Article 15 (non-judicial punishment), place a General Officer level letter of reprimand in their personnel file, and have them in full dress uniform stand before their Battalion, each personally apologize to God, Country, and Corps videotaped and conclude by singing the full US Marine Corps Hymn without a teleprompter.

“As for everyone else, unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.”

I’m not even quite sure that what the Marines did was wrong, but since when in the hell did we become so indignant and self-righteously outraged about treating killers like they deserve to be treated? Sure, they probably shouldn’t have videotaped what they did, but who the hell cares? And don’t give me this “don’t stoop to their level” B.S. either. Until you have been in the shoes of our warriors, or our first responders (cops, firefighters, etc.), or, heck, even ever been a crime victim yourself, you have no idea what you would do, given the same circumstances.

Big Journalism Editor-in-Chief and CNN contributor (as well as Tea Party rock star), Dana Loesch, also hit the nail on the head on her radio show Thursday: (h/t Mediaite)

“Can someone explain to me if there’s supposed to be a scandal that someone pees on the corpse of a Taliban fighter? Someone who, as part of an organization, murdered over 3,000 Americans? I’d drop trou and do it too. That’s me though. I want a million cool points for these guys. Is that harsh to say? Come on people, this is a war. What do people think this is?”

Atta girl, Dana…give ‘em hell. I know I’d be right there next to you ‘droppin’ trou’ too! They deserve nothing less.

And as Boortz put it so well today on his show…there are just some people in this world who really deserve to be pissed on. And “dead tangos” fit that bill quite nicely.

American Sniper and Navy SEAL, Chris Kyle, Speaks to Bill O’Reilly (VIDEO)

One of this country’s best heroes, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, appeared on Bill O’Reilly tonight not only to promote his new book, “American Sniper,” but to tell the tale of his experiences in the Middle East as the most sucessful American sniper, as well as his convictions of his accomplishments. He not only performed so well to save the lives of his fellow military men & women, but also the innocent Iraqi men, women and children, against what he calls (as well as most others do) “savages;” savages who would rape, murder, and torture their fellow countrymen and women in the name of their “god.”

I think Bill O was a bit out of line in his questioning of Kyle, pressing him on his conviction that what he had done was the right thing. In the end, however, Kyle acquitted himself quite well for this interview.

You don’t agree with Kyle? Sucks to be you, but he did what his country asked him to do, and I think he did an out-freaking-STANDING job as a SEAL. America is a safer country because of men like him.

By the way…I wish there was video of Kyle knocking out Jesse (the freak) Ventura in that SEAL bar. That would have been a SWEET deal. Jesse Ventura is a worthless P.O.S. and I’m glad he met Kyle on that particular day.

Soon after meeting Kyle, Jesse met the floor. LOL @ Jesse the fool.

Happy Veterans’ Day To All Our Heroes (VIDEO)

I have nothing more to say today than a hearty “thank you” to all the veterans who have served this country so bravely and valiantly. There is no more a fitting tribute than Trace Adkins singing his hit song, ‘Till the Last Shot’s Fired‘ at an earlier Academy of Country Music Awards show.

And thank you to the West Point Glee Club who accompanied Trace on this song. If you don’t need a tissue while watching this video, you don’t have a soul. God bless our men and women who have served, and continue to provide us the freedoms we so often take for granted.

And a BIG thank you to Trace Adkins. Love you, man.
