Wow… Glenn unleashed holy hell today over several issues, the least of which was Obama’s dithering on his Afghanistan policy decision. No one was spared his wrath, including Congress in general, but specifically Jack Murtha.
Since when have our troops been a budgetary concern, especially since they’re actively involved in a war overseas? Oh, yeah… since Obama decided to consider budgetary items ONLY as it concerns the troops and support for them.
I don’t have family in Afghanistan or Iraq, but I have many friends who are there, and they corroborate Glenn’s outrage. Obama dithers while troops die…all the while he plans yet another party for the White House, where all of Hollywood’s elite stars are invited to attend. What a sham.
To make things worse, I have to ask if you remember the civilian Blackwater contractors who were murdered, burned, mutilated and hung from a bridge in Fallujah. Do you? Well apparently some Navy SEALs found the high-value operative behind that atrocity. But what is the current administration doing? The detainee who is responsible for those atrocities told authorities he was punched in the face during questioning when they were found. Somebody call these douchebags a waaahmbulance.
What do the Navy SEALs get in return? A court martial for assault. Are you freakin’ kidding me? I knew about Hillary’s “testicle lock box,” but since when did it become necessary to pass that lockbox down to the Obama administration and his DoD/DoJ?
This is a travesty of epic proportions. I maintain that Obama will not last a full first term – I think he will be impeached for absolute dereliction of duty and malfeasance in office.
Yesterday in their first interview since the Jihadist attacks at Ft. Hood, Sgts. Kimberly Munley and Mark Todd appeared on Oprah to recount the details of the events on that fateful day (as well as dispel some incorrectly reported items in the media).
Big hugs and congrats for both Sgts. Todd & Munley; you are really true heroes and you saved American lives.
Like many others, I was disturbed by President Obama’s initial public statement about the Ft. Hood terrorist attack. You know, the one where the mention of that mass slaughter was preceded by a near 2-minute talk with a “shout out” to a group of Native Americans? Does he have that little regard for the soldiers who were slaughtered by an Islamic terrorist?
As I listened to him, I realized that what he was saying didn’t match…what he was saying. I think you know what I mean. It was the same measured tone with which he pretty much discusses anything, reading from the teleprompter or not. He shows no emotion, barely any inflection (unless he’s talking to an SEIU or ACORN crowd), and is just plain cold. I, for one, don’t buy the “soaring oratory” skills others ascribe to him. Anyway, back to my point.
Since he’s gotten the August assessment on Afghanistan from General McChrystal back in September, he has yet to make any other decision about what he’s going to act on, other than decide he wouldn’t decide for several more weeks. Why is he taking such a long time? His supporters are saying he’s being “thoughtful” and “thorough” about making that decision, but what about the guys on the ground now? They are the ones that need the backup! I guess he’s not too concerned about them, much less Gen. McChrystal’s request for 40,000 more troops. According to the assessment, McChrystal said “Failure to gain the initiative and reverse insurgent momentum in the near term (next 12 months) — while Afghan security capacity matures — risks an outcome where defeating the insurgency is no longer possible.” How much more dire of a warning could Obama have received.
Now today, even after his initial “benchmarks” including the election in Afghanistan, as well as much politicking back home about that monstrosity called a health-care bill, we hear that Obama is rejecting all current troop recommendations he’s received from his security team? He’s going to go back to square one? What the hell?
I have friends over there, and they’re getting really pissed off about this. They need help…they need boots on the ground so they can help secure the areas in which they operate, and train the Afghan troops and police so they can eventually handle it on their own.
After hearing an interview Obama did with Jake Tapper of ABC on Monday night, it struck me – I now know how he feels about our troops. He thinks of them as “expenditures.” Yes, think about that and let it sink in. He thinks of our troops as an asset that costs this country money. Money he doesn’t want to spend. What? Don’t believe me? I heard this clip on Rush’s show Tuesday, and Rush expressed his own outrage at it, but I didn’t put two and two together until this morning’s news about turning down all the proposed plans.
Here is a portion of the transcript of that interview. I want you to read and re-read Obama’s second point when answering Jake:
Jake Tapper says, “You are about to make a final decision about the new strategy in Afghanistan and Pakistan. What variables play into your decision making that would cause you to not just take General McChrystal’s recommendation and implement it?”
OBAMA: These are not only eh, enormous burdens that we’re placing on our y-young men and women — and that’s the thing I think most about.
OBAMA: It’s also expensive.
OBAMA: Every thousand troops we spend that’s costing us a billion dollars. Uhh, i-if you send 40,000 troops you’re looking at maybe $50 billion per year above and beyond the costs that we’re already spending.
Are you kidding me? The “enormous burdens that we’re placing on our young men and women” is what he thinks about most? Does anybody believe this? My friends over in Afghanistan don’t believe him, and I damn sure don’t either. His real reason for not sending the troops is actually the cost. Our troops “cost” too much. Their safety “costs” too much. Our national security “costs” too much.
Mr. Obama, how much value do you ascribe to the troops that are already over there, and getting killed in record numbers? Do they have such little fiscal value to you that you won’t “spend” more “troops” (read = money) on them? Our guys are being ambushed, blown up by IEDs, and killed in raging gun battles, all the while you dither and ponder your political future. Obama, you have to know that a lot of Americans see and understand that you fear your political future over our troops, and we are beyond angry at this point. We, like the troops over there, are pissed off. Politics should never be your first order of concern when it comes to matters of our security or the support of our men and women who wear the uniform for this country. I used to think you merely had an abject disdain for them, but now it’s come to this: they’re just an “expenditure” which depletes money from your budget that you’d rather be spending on your Marxist agenda.
Mr. President, although you are the Commander in Chief of the most exceptional nation on this planet, that doesn’t mean you have to be an exceptional jackass. And yet that’s what we’re discovering you to be.
Check HotAir’s post of this for some excellent commentary.
On Fox Business tonight, David Asman featured a segment on a group of retired veterans who make sure returning soldiers are properly welcomed home; regardless of the time of day.
We must ALL remember, respect and revere our American patriots. They bless us as Americans to be free to live the American dream.
Tonight on Special Report, the panel was discussing the clear warning signs about Maj. Nidal Hasan that were missed by all in the government; either that, or the PC-bug has infected us to a point of the threat of our own demise as a civilization.
Bret plays a montage of Obama previously and presently warning against a “rush to judgment” on this Ft. Hood tragedy, but when speaking of the Cambridge Police incident, he called for the same warning, yet himself said that even though he didn’t know all of the facts, it was clear the Cambridge Police “acted stupidly.”
Can anybody on the left please explain this to me? Can anybody who is on the left defend this and explain that it is not the same? I want to be disproven, but it’s become so obviously apparent that Obama “rushes to judgment” when it suits his politically-correct template the best.
I found this wonderful blogger/cartoonist at DrawForTruth. This cartoon actually states in a picture what can only be described is how Americans feel today about the healthcare reform bill being crammed down our throats right now.
They reportedly have the votes for tomorrow, but it still doesn’t make the bill right for America. God help [...]
A good friend passed along this video to me today, and it couldn’t have come on a better day. Enjoy!
This video perfectly embodies the sentiment of those who oppose big government and unsustainable spending.

I am SO proud of one of my home state’s Republican Senators, Tom Coburn. Not only is he a fine Senator, but he’s also a physician. Today he fired a warning shot across the bow to Dems, saying that if they think they can vote yes on the “deem to pass” rule but think they [...]
Well, somebody’s gotta pick up ACORN’s slack, dont’ they?
Yesterday on Beck, Glenn revealed even more lies the president and top Dems are churning out about alleged “victims” of our “broken” healthcare system. They keep trotting out these people at press events and other occasions to use and abuse these people to get this healthcare [...]
…and hilarity ensues.
I don’t agree with Stewart’s political views, but when he’s funny, he’s really funny. Check out this latest video of his recent discovery of Chatroulette.
I didn’t know Brian Williams had that good a sense of humor! I needed this laugh today.

At the RSA Conference in San Francisco, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano discusses three efforts underway to ensure the security of the nation’s cyberinfrastructure. This includes the development of National Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan, which will facilitate a coordinated response to cyberthreats from the federal government, local city [...]
