Today Rick Folbaum, sitting in for Shepard Smith on Studio B, had Judge Andrew Napolitano on to discuss the constitutionality of the Obama administration’s appoinment of the 30+ czars to date. This was in light of former Green Jobs Czar, Van Jones, who resigned at 12:01 AM on Sunday this past Labor Day weekend.
The more the administration tries to explain things, the more questions are brought to bear: Are the Czars vetted? Does the FBI do background checks? How much money do they make? What kind of power do they have in decision-making in the Obama Administration? Who funds them? Who appoints them? What is their experience, and who vouches for their character? How much experience, and better yet, what KIND of experience do they bring to the job? What Cabinet-level positions do they supercede in making decision for the Executive Branch?
So, so many questions, yet so few answers. And Van Jones is only the beginning. It’s not Van Jones; it’s the entire administration’s unflinching appointment of unaccountable people to positions of power within the White House about which we, as a representative Republic, REQUIRE answers!
I’ve been wanting to say this for many days now, and I can’t hold my tongue any longer. Glenn Beck was willing to take one on the chin, threats to his personal and family security be-damned, to bring the TRUTH to Americans and the rest of the world about Obama’s czars; specifically one Van Jones. No other broadcaster or commentator was willing to dig as deep as he did, but he did it nonetheless. Only when there was such voluminous information out there about Van Jones and his past, did others start to speak about it themselves.
I know that others were watching how far Glenn could go without being harmed, as they probably themselves feared repercussion, but Glenn loves his country too much (as do I) that he could not remain silent anymore. I think those who DID NOT do their journalistic due diligence portrayed a level of cowardice for waiting until the “coast was clear” to glom on to what Glenn (and us Constitutional Watchdogs) were able to dig up and bring to the forefront of what is readily accessible out there via a simple Google search.
Well, well, well… now it’s come to Obama’s elite circle throwing THEMSELVES under the bus! Geez, this bus must be as big as Big Foot the monster truck! After all the unraveling of Van Jones’ radical history, finally someone at the White House broke – Van Jones issued a statement after 9PM tonight about his ‘indiscretion’ and regret on signing a 9/11 Truther petition in 2004. Yeah, that Truther petition.
“My work at the Council on Environmental Quality is entirely focused on one goal: building clean energy incentives which create 21st century jobs that improve energy efficiency and use renewable resources,” Jones said in his statement tonight.
Jones also said in his statement that “In recent days some in the news media have reported on past statements I made before I joined the administration – some of which were made years ago. If I have offended anyone with statements I made in the past, I apologize.”
Martha McCallum helped break the news of Jones coming out tonight to speak about it. My question is, shouldn’t it have been the White House that came out to refute or apologize for Jones’ history? Or is it again another person being tossed under the Obama bus?
There’s not much more I can say here or editorialize on than what Glenn says. I could have cut out the last part where Glenn poses questions about his own motives, but I wanted to leave it because I think the context is important. If Glenn is wrong, then he’s wrong and discredited. But if he’s right, then what? Then not only does it suck for Glenn, but it sucks for ALL Americans!
I agree with Glenn about this back-and-forth between Left and Right; all common-sense Americans should come together as one group, and ask our government about this man, Van Jones, along with the other “czars” or “special advisers” or whatever the Obama administration is calling these 32 people. We, as a free country, deserve answers to these questions. And only as one voice can we truly ask for and get the answers we need. I think the powers-that-be like it when we are at each others’ throats, so we all need to stop it – and work together.
It is, after all, our country that is at stake. It doesn’t just affect Republicans – it affects every American.
Wow… Democrat pollster, Pat Caddell, discussed Obama’s Green Jobs Czar, Van Jones. Caddell was shocked to find out that Jones made it to his position as the GJC with a criminal record. He wondered aloud how that got past the FBI check, which apparently it didn’t but it doesn’t matter. Caddell says it’s clear to him and should be to everyone else that it’s all about the money.
Phil Kerpen of Americans for Prosperity was on to discuss the funding of the smart grid, the stimulus author(s), Van Jones’ real history of being the mastermind behind “Cash 4 Clunkers” (Hoopties 4 Hybrids)…Wow…just wow.
I wonder if, knowing all this now, the White House will get all “wee-weed” up knowing Beck is exposing Van Jones for the criminal he is? Anxious to hear their response to this one.
