Boy, we sure could use a modern-day Reagan right now. You are missed, President Reagan.

Marco Rubio’s Keynote Address at HLN Conference (VIDEO)

I know this is a week or so old, but for those of you who have not seen it, I would categorieze this as “must-see” video. This is from the Hispanic Leadership Network Conference in Miami Florida on January 27th. Marco Rubio is one of those Freshmen Republicans in Washington, but his star shines bright on the horizon. I expect many good things from this man in the future, and there couldn’t be a more important time in America’s history for people of Rubio’s character to become involved in politics to help right this ship.

A couple of excerpts from the transcript of the speech:

…when the choices that are put before us today are dangerous ones, because if we choose this path of pitting people against each other, if we buy into this notion that our economy really can’t grow fast enough for all of us to prosper so we’re going to have to somehow empower government to distribute the wealth of this country among us, we’ve chosen to become like everybody else. We’ve chosen to become like the countries that your parents and grandparents came here to get away from. And that’s a powerful message. And that’s the message that we need to deliver. And that’s the message we need to work on delivering. It’s a winning message, but it’s a difficult message to get to because the gateway issue of immigration stands in the minds of so many people who we live next to and love.

While Our Divorced Parents Fight & Embarrass Us in Public, I’m Taking This Time to Test Out Some New Themes For My Site

From the Desk of MsU ~

As you all know who have been reading (or trying to read) my blog lately, I have been suffering from several things: On a brief hiatus; recovering from a debilitating health problem; having problems with bad HTML codes; experimenting with new themes for customization (with as little of a financial impact on me as possible, which is very key); and a slight burnout on these embarrassing weeks of GOP on GOP in-fighting.

I gotta tell ya folks; this kind of reminds me of something a friend of mine recently went through. She and her siblings agreed to meet with their now-divorced parents for dinner. While at the restaurant after exchanging shallow pleasantries, her parents began immediately engaging in loud and boisterous arguing about what the other had done wrong in the marriage. Dad was yelling at mom, and mom was yelling at dad, and it wasn’t meant, quite clearly, to bridge any relationship gaps that had formed since their divorce many years ago.

As the other patrons at the restaurant were clearly becoming more and more uncomfortable at the tenor of the fight, my friend and her siblings found themselves sinking lower and lower in their chairs. They were PRAYING for the food to come so hopefully the food would shut the mouths of their parents and stop them from this very public debacle. But that didn’t happen. The food came and sat there while they continued to bellow at each other, while all the kids gave each other that knowing look – “we gotta get out of here!”

Mark Levin on Cavuto, Discussing his New Book “Ameritopia” (VIDEO)

Today on Neil Cavuto, radio talk show host and constitutional scholar, Mark Levin was on to discuss his new book, “Ameritopia.”

Levin’s previous book, “Liberty and Tyranny” was a best-seller, as was another book before that titled, “Men in Black.” “Liberty and Tyranny” is a must-read for anybody who wants to know how we got to the point where we are in America today.

You Must See Rick Perry’s New Ad: “America Is Calling” (VIDEO)

This is the quality of character that this country is sorely missing in our Commander in Chief. Remember when George Bush, regardless of how bad things were, he would always remind us of how great America is, how exceptional Americans really are, and how we would always muddle through no matter what? I do…and I miss that.

Now I’m not saying I need to have mmy hand held by my president, but I am saying that what the president says and re-iterates over and over sets the overall tone for the country as a hole. How much longer do you want to hear our president call us lazy, cowardly, arrogant, and so many other things, like Barack Obama has done all throughout his first 3 years as president? I’m sick of it, and I’m ready for a new day, a new president, and a revival of the American spirit so we are motivated to rediscover that entrepreneurial, unbreakable, enigmatic sense of what it means to BE an American!

If Rick Perry doesn’t win the nomination, I believe he would be a fantastic V.P. candidate for whomever is chosen to be the nominee. Make no mistake, I’m not giving up on him for the nomination, but I’m just saying he is a breath of fresh air and this country needs him. America is calling…not just for someone like Rick Perry, but for folks like you and me to do the necessary things to make sure we get REAL change in 2012.
