The first 30 seconds or so of this are boring, but they are necessary to set up what the whole hearing is about (i.e., dull). This is the Joint Economic Committee that met today, chaired by New York Democrat Representative Carolyn Maloney. After thanking Dem. Rep. Maurice Hinchey, Maloney closed out the meeting thanking everyone. Maloney can be heard saying “MmmMM,” and a male is heard saying “good job as always,” to which Maloney moans “oh, gosh, thank you…MmmHmmm.” This was all caught on an open-mic and I don’t think they knew about it.
Sounds like Carolyn got her own kind of stimulus with that compliment. Am I the only one who thinks this sounded really creepy?
According to the former Air America radio host, a conservative starts out an “asshole,†and the politics come later. She asserted, “The reason a person is a conservative republican (sic) is because something is wrong with them…It really is neuroscience.â€
In this February 12 interview with the environmentalist celebrity blog Ecorazzi, Garofalo also claimed the “irrational†emotion center of the brain, the limbic system, is what creates conservatives (text reformatted, profanity edited, all bold mine):
The reason a person is a conservative republican is because something is wrong with them. Again, that’s science – that’s neuroscience. You cannot be well adjusted, open-minded, pluralistic, enlightened and be a republican. It’s counter-intuitive. And they revel in their anti-intellectualism. They revel in their cruelty.
I don’t know if you heard me talking to Jenny a while ago, but I was saying that first you have to be an asshole and then comes the conservatism. You gotta be a dick to cleave onto their ideology…
Sarah Palin didn’t escape Garofalo’s ire either. She said Palin is “small-minded and mean-spirited” and “is what the Republican Party has become: obstructionist, contrarians, small-minded, all of these things (sic).â€
Garofalo raved that “[t]here’s definitely something wrong” with Palin, and she’s successful with some Americans “because she represents that lesser segment of the country. It’s about people’s lesser nature…â€
Stay classy, Janeane… stay classy. And to the “24″ producers: You’ve made a VERY big mistake with this choice. Was it your plan for Janeane’s character to look like she hadn’t taken a shower or washed her hair for a month? What about that red star tattoo on her right hand? There were so many other actors you could have chosen, but this one?
When I see her, I can only remember back to that one appearance of hers on Real Time with Bill Maher, where she was obviously tweaking. If anyone can look at this video and honestly tell me you think she is not on drugs, then you should get out more.
Tonight on Bill O’Reilly, it was MILLER TIME! And tonight the boys discussed the inauguration, Obama’s speech, Joseph Lowrey’s racist ‘poem,’ and Jay-Z/Young Jeezy’s over-the-top racist rap song disrespecting President Bush, and proclaiming their loyalty to their new Black President.
Unbelievably shameful. I thought Obama was ushering in a post-racial era? Apparently not on that side. If whites question or criticize Obama, we are deemed “racist.” But if blacks continue to talk smack and demean Pres. Bush or anybody else white, that’s just… well, that’s just life and we’re supposed to be okay with it.
Obama, you better pull these guys in because they’re making you look bad. Again, this is embarrassing to me as an American, and it should be shameful to the entire black community. This is blacks oppressing blacks – nothing more, nothing less. And the kind of thing folks like Bill Cosby decry, rightly so.
And can someone…ANYONE… please show a little bit of respect for the outgoing president? Or is that just too much to ask?
*sigh*… I thought Barack was going to change things. Apparently not. This is so embarrassing to me as an American, as it should be to the rest of the country – BLACKS INCLUDED! Post-racial? Yeah, not likely.
0:41-1:17
Young Jeezy: I know you all are thanking a lot of people right now, the people of Barack Obama campaign. Just everybody who did everything, on the street getting votes and all that and shit. I wanna thank two people, I wanna thank the mother-fucker overseas that threw two shoes at George Bush and I wanna thank-and listen, listen-and I wanna thank the mother fuckers who helped dem move their shit up out of the White House. Keep it moving bitch because my president is mother fucking black, nigga!
2:02-2:06
Jeezy: Nigga
Jay-Z: You know it
Jeezy: I’m so proud to be black right now. I don’t even know what to say, nigga.
Jay Z- at about 5:40 on this video Neva thought Id Say this shit baby Im good
You can keep ya Puss,
I don’t want no More BUSH
No More War, No More Iraq
No More White LIES, My President is BLACK
Someone please make this crap stop! Obama? You need to step in and stop this – these are (by their own self-description) your people! They’re not helping your cause to make this whole election to be post-racial. The onus is now on Obama.
Greta Van Susteren interviewed the Palin family this past weekend, and in the holiday spirit, everybody participated in the fun.
This was taken in a bus or limo or something, but the Halloween decorations were just great. And as usual, the Palin kids were just so sweet. What a fantastic family!
Greta engages Sarah on illegal immigration, energy policies, and a lot of other issues. I think this was a fantastic interview, and for those of you who say Sarah’s been “unavailable” to the media, try looking up how many interviews she’s done compared to Joe Biden?
