Also from the Ames, Iowa Straw Poll event today. Michigan Congressman, Thaddeus McCotter, made it official he’s seeking the nomination to be the GOP candidate to run against Obama in 2012. He sat down with FNC’s Bret Baier for a brief interview after today’s event.
For those of you unfamiliar with McCotter’s personality, just Google “Thad McCotter” and “RedEye.” He’s acquitted himself quite well there, as someone who’s a serious candidate, as well as an uber-intellectual. Oh, and did I mention how hip he is? Again I encourage you to Google for videos of his appearances on various programs. He’s late to the game, but he’s definitely not a flake. I wish him well, and like Herman Cain, I think he would make a great cabinet pick for the GOP winner in 2012. He’s a serious guy, but not too serious. He’s got the political and policy chops to do big things in the future for the country.
He may not do anything big in 2012, but he’s definitely a rising GOP star.

Brit Hume’s Special Commentary on Climategate (VIDEO)
This is one to cherish. His response is the same as mine regarding the dunces who say that the climategate emails were “taken out of context” and the White House, who still claims it’s settled science.
Brit Hume is one brilliant dude. And he’s in good company on this subject.
