Beck With Keith Zeier, US Marine, Wounded Special Ops Warrior, and Marathon Runner (VIDEO)

Beck recently interviewed USMC Keith Zeier, who has had a remarkable recovery and is promoting the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. From the FirstGiving.com website:

My name is Keith Zeier and I am a Reconnaissance Marine who served with both the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion and the Marine Special Operations Battalion. On July 17th, 2006 I was involved in an IED explosion that left my left leg with both permanent muscle and nerve damage along with a severe head injury. This incident, unfortunately, ended my career in the Marine Corps but it has certainly not stripped me of the determination, perseverance, and mental toughness that I’ve gained while serving as an operator in this small community.

Accordingly, I have decided to run a 100 mile ultramarathon from Key Largo to Key West, Florida in honor of the fallen Recon Marines and Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman who have died in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. I am running this race to raise money for the families of the fallen and wounded warriors of the Special Operations community. Every cent of the money raised from this event will go to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. These operators have made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting our own civil liberties and we should never forget this.

Please go to the site and read the rest of his story and give what you can to help.

National Memorial Day Concert in D.C. (VIDEOS)

Today’s day of celebration to honor our military veterans and heroes, there were quite a few heart-warming moments in the show. Here are just a few of them. I hope you all got a chance to watch this on PBS, but in case you didn’t, here are some heart-felt highlights of the evening.

As you watch these tributes, say a little prayer for all of our men and women sacrificing their lives so that we may live in freedom.

God bless these men and women who serve this country, and more specificaly… God bless those like Gary Sinise, Trace Adkins, Joe Montegna and others who share their time with us to celebrate these honors and these troops.

God bless our military men and women, God bless those who honor their sacrifices, and may God continue to bless the United States of America.

Beck & Gen. Myers Discuss the President’s Plan of Making Vets Pay for Medical Care (VIDEO)

Gen. Richard Myers, former Joint Chiefs of Staff and author of “Eyes On the Horizon,” was on Glenn Beck’s show tonight to discuss the Obama Administration’s recent idea of making injured veterans’ private insurance coverage (if they have any) bear the cost for medical treatment after their injuries from military service. I guess the outcry was too much for Obama, and his administration has apparently now retracted that notion and plan. I am not buying it, however, so I’ll just wait to see what happens. The Obama administration has a LOT to explain to our military veterans, and to people like Gen. Richard Myers.

Beck also asks him the uncomfortable question about how he feels regarding our terrorist threat now that Gitmo is being closed, we can no longer use the phrase “enemy combatant,” etc., etc. Gen. Myers is quite candid, and honestly very kind in his comments (moreso than I would be).
