Jack Lew Reveals to Chris Wallace Exactly Why Obamacare MUST Be Repealed! (VIDEO)

You have to watch the whole thing because it’s really incredible. Chris Wallace asked the first key question I don’t think anybody else has asked about the new “preventive care” or “contraception” mandate that was handed down as part of Obamacare. The question came early on, and Jack Lew’s answer was stunningly blatant. Here’s the key portion to which I am referring, from the Fox News transcript:

WALLACE: Before we get to the president’s new budget and I promise we will, I want to clear up some lingering question about the president’s revised policy about providing health insurance coverage for birth control to the employees of religious institutions. The president now says that Catholic institutions don’t have to provide the coverage but the insurance companies do.

The question — where does the president get the power to tell a private company they have to offer a product and offer it for free?

LEW: Well, Chris, just to be clear — the president has the authority under the Affordable Care Act to have these kinds of rules take affect.

Wait what?

Please, I want everyone to pay attention to this and pass it along. This interview, en toto, was quite revealing, but this first bit made me hit rewind on my DVR about six times, making sure I heard what he said. His response was not from the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence or even any of the Federalist Papers.

Until Obamacare, a.k.a., the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, was passed by Congress, the Executive Branch did not have such broad and overreaching powers. Forget about the individual mandate and contraceptive issues in the news lately…we must focus, folks, on this one glaring (and frightening) fact of this legislation. If Obamacare grants the Executive Branch the power to force indiviudal companies to provide something for FREE to all women everywhere, there is absolutely NO limit to what else this administration can conjure up.

Jack Lew and all the other apologists for this latest heinous power grab seem to be trying to convince us that “studies show” (~rolling my eyes~) providing contraception and “preventive care” for women’s “health” issues actually makes the cost of the insurance premiums cheaper, so there really is no “cost” to the insurance companies; it’s apprently break-even for them. Yes, that’s right… it’s cheaper to prevent a woman from getting pregnant and a baby from being born, so why the heck would ANYBODY be against this mandate? /sarc

What country is this in which we live…China?

And Mr. Lew et. al.; if this will cost the insurance companies “nothing,” why are you claiming it will save women approximately $600 per year? It either costs or it doesn’t. You can’t have it both ways.

But I digress.

Let’s forget about how much contraception costs; let’s just focus on why I am writing this post in the first place. The most significant and important question whe should ALL be askng today is this: what part of the Constitution grants the President or Congress the absolute right or authority by which they can force a PRIVATE company to give, FOR FREE, any service or product to any American? Just once more for punctuation and clarity, here again is Jack Lew giving his stunning response to Chris Wallace:

After you watch it and hear it, just let that tiny part just simmer and tell me if you think this is just an “access” or “women’s healthcare” issue. And lastly, can we disabuse these folks of this nonsense about “access” to contraception? Did I miss something here? Are birth control pills are now illegal and no longer available by another other method, or through any other manner? Are they prohibitively so expensive that everyday Americans can no longer afford them? If that is the case, how about condoms? Last I heard they are at the point at which they’ll probably just start falling from the sky, courtesy of the condom fairy!

If you think this is anything less than an absolute overreach and power grab from the Obama administration, you are kidding youself.

Obama’s Inheritance and What He’s Done With It

As is so often said, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Obama's Inheritance

…or in Obama’s case, $15+ trillion.

Paul Ryan Lays Out the Budget Political Divide on Fox News Sunday (VIDEO)

This is just another reason why I’m sad that Ryan isn’t running for POTUS this year. However, as effective and convicted as he is about budgetary matters, perhaps he can truly achieve more in the House. Either way, I’m just glad our side has such a strong proponent of capitalism and the importance of having a budget. Video courtesy Fox News Sunday:

America…PLEASE wake up to this class warfare game that the Dems and Obama are playing. Their policies are so antithetical to prosperity, it’s no wonder that those who are in the dependent classes in America fall for this tripe every time. The ones who get the goodies are the ones who vote for those who give the goodies. But sooner or later, we will all be out of goodies to give, and who will be to blame? All of us, truthfully, because we aren’t engaged in this fight as much as we should be in order to see the change we need.

Examining the List of Obamacare Waivers

Now, I know I’m late to the game on this, but the recent news about more waivers being granted for Obamacare caused me to dive into it again and have a second and third look. First I was wondering about the connections some of the companies had with democrats or democrat-supporting organizations or people, but then you don’t have to research to find that out for a lot of them; it’s right there in their names: this “Union,” that “Brotherhood,” this “Guild,” etc., etc., etc.

Corner of Hope & Change

I started noticing not who the waivers were granted to, but at the number of employees some of them listed. Aren’t these waivers granted so that the companies/organizations won’t bear an undue burden financially? If you have ZERO or 3 employees, why in the world would you need the waiver?

The HHS has broken the waivers down to separate lists. On the list for “Self-Insured Employers,” it describes the waivers thusly:

“Self-Insured Employers: Approved Applications for Waiver of the Annual Limits Requirements. This is a list of self-insured employers that have received waivers of the annual dollar limit requirements for group health plans offered to their employees.”

So let’s just take a look at a few of these shall we?

Some place called “Maverick County” has 1 enrollee. “Captain Elliot’s Party Boats” has 10 enrollees. “Big Valley Labor PRM Health Plan” has 4 enrollees. “Pacific Risk Management” has 3 enrollees. The “Town of Frisco” has 8 enrollees. It goes on and on.

The next list is for “Health Reimbursement Arrangements,” which is described as this:

“Health Reimbursement Arrangements: Approved Applications for Waiver of the Annual Limits Requirements. Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs) are employer-funded group health plans where employees are reimbursed tax-free for qualified medical expenses up to a fixed dollar amount per year, and unused amounts may be rolled over to be used in subsequent years.”

Let’s take a peek at a few of these.

Something called “FIDUCIA” has 2 enrollees. “Alizio & Galfunt” has 4 enrollees. “Cargo Ventures” has 2 enrollees. “Hypex, Inc.” has ONE enrollee. (Really? ONE enrollee? Wow.) And “United Transportation Union GCA 225” has 2 enrollees. *sigh*

Now we get to the interesting stuff. From the list for “State-Mandated Policies,” the waiver list is described as such:

“State-Mandated Policies: Approved Applications for Waiver of the Annual Limits Requirements. In some States, issuers are required to offer standardized policies with specific annual dollar limits established by State law. These State-mandated annual limits are below the minimum annual limit set by HHS. In such instances, States may apply for a waiver of the annual dollar limit requirements on behalf of issuers of State-mandated policies if State law required the policies to be offered by the issuers prior to September 23, 2010. Although the State may apply on the issuers’ behalf, the application must still satisfy the standard that compliance of the annual dollar limit requirements by the issuers would result in a “significant decrease in access to benefits” or a “significant increase in premiums.””

The following entities have ZERO enrollees listed:

  • Companion Life Insurance Co.
  • John Alden Life Ins. Co.
  • Mid West National Life Ins. Co. of TN
  • National Found Life Ins. Co.
  • Reserve National Ins. Co.
  • Standard Life & Accident Ins. Co.

There are others with only 1 or 2 enrollees, so what is it that I’m not getting? If you have ZERO enrollees, how are you going to suffer a “significant increase in premiums?”

This whole things just STINKS to high heaven to me. I just pray that Republicans (true conservative Republicans) regain control of the Senate, and we get a SOLID conservative in the White House in 2012. We have to repeal this monstrosity before it does any more damage than it already has done. I have a very dear friend who works at a V.A. Clinic, and the horror stories she tells me about how they “take care of” pateints there is unbelievable. Yet if we do not repeal Obamacare, I’m afraid that’s the kind of “care” we’ll all be forced to have.

Shame on us, America, for having let things get this far. We have been very bad stewards of our own liberty.

Pima County Sheriff Says AZ Has Become ‘Mecca for Prejudice and Bigotry’ (VIDEO)

On the heels of the mass murder and shooting at a Tucson “Congress on Your Corner” event with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, which left 6 dead and twelve injured, Democrat Sheriff of Pima County, AZ, Clarence Dupnik blames Jared Loughner’s mass slaughter on “vitriolic rhetoric” coming from talk radio. He says that we must all remember that psychos like Loughner are more susceptible to this vitriol coming from the “radio business” and the “TV business,” and its message about “tearing down the government.” (Read = Tea Party, Talk Radio, and Fox News)

Huh?

He also says that all members of Congress, and really all elected officials, face a threat at some point or the other in their careers due to the contentious nature of the laws and bills passed, legislative decisions made, and that unfortunately, Arizona has become the “mecca for prejudice and bigotry” since S.B. 1070 passed. Since when is it the Pima County Sheriff’s countenance to deem what is socially right or wrong, especially when it’s spoken in ignorance of the law? And Sheriff Dupnik might want to reserve his judgment until all is discovered about this case, considering some of Jared’s favorite reads include “Mein Kampf” and “The Communist Manifesto.” Yeah… a real right-wing extremist, for sure.

The only video he has listed as a “favorite” on his YouTube channel is called “America: Your Last Memory In A Terrorist Country!” which features someone in disguise, burning an American flag, all to the tune of “Let the Bodies Hit the Floor” by Drowning Pool. In this video, there’s also an inserted comment that calls local police “cult leaders.” Yeah, real big Tea Party ideology going on there. /sarc

Methinks clearer heads need to prevail, and NOBODY needs to be calling up the political meme about this horrible tragedy. Now is not the time to be left or right, Democrat or Republican – but just plain ol’ American. I’m up for that…if only we can convince the left to play along, as well.
