Takin’ It To the Gaza Streets With Jennifer Griffin (VIDEO)

by MsUnderestimated — Categories: Fox News, Good News!, Hamas, Israel, Video, War on Terror2 Comments

GCPD (Red, White &) Blue: To you, that’s “Gaza City PD – Red, White and Blue,” (a la NYPD Blue) and Det. Jennifer Griffin is on duty! Tonight, I continue highlighting the release of Fox News reporter Steve Centanni and camerman Olaf Wiig, and the heroism of “Det.” Griffin. I’ve said before that Jennifer was my heroine, but today she DEFINITELY earns that title after listening to what she did to help free Steve and Olaf from Palestinian thugs during their captivity.

Jennifer, you are WONDERWOMAN! It is women like Jennifer Griffin who should be role models for young girls; not flakes like Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan. I know that I would have done the same, but I don’t know if I would have had the patience that she did to “negotiate” with the warlords in the dark back alleys of Gaza City. But for whatever reason God sent you there, I want to thank Him for delivering all of you from Evil.

Watch them from tonight’s H&C: Clip #1 here and clip #2 here.

God bless the U.S.A.!

Shep’s Interview With Steve & Olaf, & Greta ‘After the Show’ (VIDEO)

by MsUnderestimated — Categories: Fox News, Hamas, True Heroes, Video1 Comment

Shepard Smith got to interview Steve Centanni & Olaf Wiig today on Studio B, and it was yet another insight to their 13-day ordeal in captivity. You can see the relief on Shep’s face, and hear it in his voice. You can especially see/hear it in Steve and Olaf today – perhaps a bit more rested.

I was having the same “thought” (read “fear”) that Steve was: the 5th anniversary of 9/11 coming up, and Steve thought about that… and so did I. But thank God they’re home. Watch Shep’s interview with them here.

Now on to Greta….

I was checking around the web today, and I found Greta Van Susteren’s blog. Her entry from today was truly heartfelt, and revealed that there was more to Steve and Olaf’s story than they could tell last night. Well, of course! They were gone 13 days, and a lot happened then. Here are some of Greta’s reflections from her interview last night:

I hope you watched last night’s show: an entire hour with Steve Centanni, his brother, Olaf Wiig, his wife and Jennifer Griffin. I enjoyed doing the interview — in fact, I was thrilled to do it. It is not often that I get to do a very important story, a story that is very personal to all of us and which has a good ending!

My job was essentially to say “go” and then they told the riveting story of the kidnapping and the efforts to free them. I had no heavy lifting in this show. I did find a huge challenge: How do you condense 13 days each with a 24 harrowing hours into a one-hour show with commercials? At the end of the show I felt disappointed that you did not hear more — there is so much more to this story.

But as I hoped, she did not forget about Jennifer Griffin:

By the way, how about Jennifer Griffin and her Jerusalem bureau chief? They are tough and determined! They are also very smart, but you know that if you have watched their work. That is obvious.

With all the trouble in the Middle East, I have gotten to know Jennifer Griffin. I can’t say enough good things about her and her work as a journalist. She is truly amazing. She is one of those people who when I walk past a television and hear her talking, no matter what I am doing, what time it is, whether it is a day off or not, I always stop. I always learn something from her.

I sat on the sidelines on this one — safely in my studio and not in Gaza — and watched and, of course, worried, but having seen the efforts and the product of my colleagues in this crisis has made me enormously proud to be a colleague.

Now THAT’S a heart-warming story. You can read all of Greta’s blog entry here.

Steve & Olaf on Greta, Talking About Their Ordeal – (VIDEOS)

by MsUnderestimated — Categories: Fox News, Hamas, Terrorism, Video48 Comments

***NEW CONTENT BELOW 08/31/06***

Greta Van Susteren had a very special show tonight. She had the first interview with Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig since their release from their kidnapping and torture in Gaza City only this past Sunday, 08/27/06.

I was brought to tears when Olaf revealed that the kidnappers thought Steve was a CIA agent, military officer and spy, and told Olaf they were going to have to kill Steve. Olaf told them who he was, but somehow they had Googled Steve’s name and found out that he had been at Uday and Qusay’s home after their death, and they thought Steve might have been part of the military because of that, but apparently Olaf convinced them otherwise.

The apparent calm these two men display tonight is unbelievable, as none of us can imagine what they went through. We can all conjecture what we might have done or felt, but unless it is you, you just cannot even begin to imagine.

Steve demonstrating the pistols put to their heads

Olaf and Steve were later joined by Olaf’s wife, Anita McNaught and by Steve’s brother on the set. Greta kept reminding us that even though the rest of the world thought that Fox was doing or saying nothing about the incident on the air, movements and activities behind the scenes were flurried, and nobody at Fox was without worry. It was a very difficult day and weeks for the Fox family, as well as all other journalists around the world, I hope.

Anita and Olaf together again

Jennifer Griffin then comes in to the show tonight, and I gotta tell you; she’s my new SuperWoman for what she did to help get this resolved, along with Anita McKnaught.

These kidnappers are goons, thugs, blood-thirsty murderers who deserve nothing but swift justice. This is by far not the last we’ve heard of this story. Because of their “conversions” to Islam at gunpoint, and later denouncement of same, a lot of people are now fearing for them should they return to Gaza because they’ve now shunned “Islam,” which they had no other choice but to convert to lest they be killed. These were two very brave men, and the families behind them were and continue to be remarkable. I know the entire Fox family and “family” families are now breathing a sigh of relief now that they’re safely on American soil. I hope soon that Bush calls them to the White House and opens the doors for them. These guys need medals of honor for valor and heroism, and Anita McKnaught, Jennifer Griffin, and the JPS also deserve formal recognition for tirelelessly working for their release.

The one thing that comes from this is NEVER – GIVE – UP!

Warning – A couple of the videos below are large to retain integrity without interruption until the actual show breaks. If you want smaller, lower-res videos, email me at MsUnderestimated@gmail.com.

God bless these men, and protect them from further harm. And Steve and Olaf, I’m not trying to tell you guys what to do because I’m no expert, but I’ve read enough about Islam to know you guys can be in real danger now if you go back; especially if the video gets out (and you know it has via Al Jazeera) that you admitted you only “converted” at gunpoint because that was the only way to survive.

I have one last point I want my readers to ponder. Yes, Steve and Olaf are now released and back on American soil, but picture this in your mind. You’re in your home, Al Gore or John Kerry are sitting in office, and all of a sudden, your door bursts open in Middle America. There’s now a boot to your neck, you’re on the floor, an AK47 stuck to your head, and you’re told if you don’t convert to Islam, you’re going to be killed. What would you do? I don’t know what I would do at that moment, but I do know what I will do in ’06 and ’08 – and that is vote to keep the people in office who will make this the least likely possible scenario to happen here in my home. But remember, if the Jihadists have their way, it would be happening, and right on our doorsteps. We cannot afford to let the peace-at-any-price crowd blind us to what the true important issues are of this day: the protection of our country and our allies against global Jihad.

The video segments are here, here, here, here, and here.

God bless everyone at Fox, all my friends, all lovers of freedom everywhere; our President, our military men and women, and more importantly, God Bless the U.S.A.

P.S. I will try to post a partial transcript tomorrow, but it is too late tonight – I ran out of time. The videos are brilliant, and will give you goosebumps.

Also sent to Jo’s Cafe, bRight&Early, Blue Star Chronicles, and Stop the ACLU, Michelle Malkin, and HotAir. Again to Stop the ACLU, and Blue Star Chronicles reminds us of the part where Steve and Olaf said the terrorists didn’t like to be called “Islamic Fascists”. Was this comment also made at gunpoint?

If you thought THIS video was great, there’s another one on the Fox Fan page. (h/t to reader David)

This one lasts 11 minutes, 22 seconds, and it’s Steve and Olaf answering viewers’ questions who have emailed Greta. This is probably more insightful than the one that aired on Greta’s initial interview. Greta’s readers asked some darn good questions, and I loved the answers. A reader asks if they were angry, and I was glad to hear them both say they were. Steve again talked about how he was impressed with Fox News’ Jennifer Griffin and Eli Fasman, going up to shady bad guys yelling at them, basically telling them they were full of it, and they should go get something done! HA! You go, girl! I knew Jennifer had it in her for that. I could tell that neither she nor Anita McKnaught would ever stop until they got them freed. Thank you ladies.

“Hamas the Oppressed,” by Juan Williams (VIDEO)

by MsUnderestimated — Categories: Fox News, Hamas, Liberal Bed-Wetters, Terrorism, Video, War on Terror30 Comments

First, apologies for the abrupt start to the video. As Trace Gallagher says on the tape, Fox News Sunday is rejoined after a breaking press conference about the tragic plane crash in Kentucky.

You know, I was getting more and more hopeful this past that Juan might be coming to his senses, especially on the heels of all of his appearances recently about his new book, “Enough,” but tonight’s panel just brought me back down to earth. Again, Brit has to take him to task. Hamas opressed? Scuse me, Juan?

Chris starts out discussing their first viewing of the “conversion” video, and said that when they first say this, they then did not know this was going to have a happy ending. Here’s a partial transcript of the exchange between tell-it-like-it-is Brit, and left-wing, peace-at-any-price Juan:

HUME: Yes, and what an appealing faith these thugs must believe Islam is, that conversions have to be effected at the point of a gun. And what of the argument that all of the ills and troubles that beset the Palestinian people, that lead them to terrorism, are the cause of what they endlessly refer to as the illegal Israeli occupation.

Consider the latest rounds of trouble in Gaza and Lebanon, two places from which Israel has withdrawn.

It has been noted that not for one day after the Israeli pullout from Gaza did the rocket attacks that came from Gaza ever stop. We’re not dealing here with something that is susceptible to a political resolution of the kind of which the State Department and many a president has dreamed.

We’re dealing here with a lawless enemy whose goal far transcends any side-by-side, two-state solution. That isn’t going to do it. We’re dealing with a terrorist, gangland-style enemy, which I think it’s fair to conclude, and this episode only further illustrates it, must be defeated.

WILLIAMS: I don’t think there’s any question that these people have been beaten down, occupied, oppressed, and that you’re going to say, all of a sudden, you know what, it’s gangland. All true, Brit, but you’re saying because, suddenly, Israel pulls back, you expected that immediately there would be hats off, hey old fellow, have a beer on me?

These people, not only is their chaos, they don’t really have a government. And, as you know, there have been sanctions put in place against them and their government because of the activities of Hamas.

HUME: I can imagine the conversation that must have unfolded, Bill, in which these hoodlums sat around in a basement somewhere and decided that because of the sanctions that have been imposed on the Palestinian Authority and the leadership of the terrorist organization Hamas that they must go out and snatch a couple of unarmed, innocent Americans and hold them at bay and then force them to convert to Islam by gunpoint.

Somehow, Juan, I just don’t see the connection.

Are you kidding, Juan?

WILLIAMS: I just don’t think it’s going to be an instantaneous turnaround to a peaceful, organized group of people after the horrors that they have been through and their history of fighting against Israel and the deep enmity that exists.

I mean, it’s a horrible situation, but to say, oh, because the Israelis pulled out, that they should behave now in a better way. We should not have any more problems.

HUME: Well, Juan, let me ask you this. Should they behave better?

WILLIAMS: I was hoping that they would behave better. I hope that they will organize themselves. I think Bill and I would agree that the reasons the sanctions were put in there was because people view Hamas as a terrorist organization and you want…

HUME: With good reason.

And at the end, Chris then plays a clip from Centanni & Wiig’s release, and this time you could hear Steve’s breaking voice, all choked up, as he hugged the first person in the door. This is he first time I’ve heard the audio part of that tape, but the embrace has now become infamous and seen ’round the world.

Watch the FNS Panel video here.

Michelle Malkin is also on this, as is Wizbang.
