Obama’s Inheritance and What He’s Done With It

As is so often said, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Obama's Inheritance

…or in Obama’s case, $15+ trillion.

Marco Rubio’s Keynote Address at HLN Conference (VIDEO)

I know this is a week or so old, but for those of you who have not seen it, I would categorieze this as “must-see” video. This is from the Hispanic Leadership Network Conference in Miami Florida on January 27th. Marco Rubio is one of those Freshmen Republicans in Washington, but his star shines bright on the horizon. I expect many good things from this man in the future, and there couldn’t be a more important time in America’s history for people of Rubio’s character to become involved in politics to help right this ship.

A couple of excerpts from the transcript of the speech:

…when the choices that are put before us today are dangerous ones, because if we choose this path of pitting people against each other, if we buy into this notion that our economy really can’t grow fast enough for all of us to prosper so we’re going to have to somehow empower government to distribute the wealth of this country among us, we’ve chosen to become like everybody else. We’ve chosen to become like the countries that your parents and grandparents came here to get away from. And that’s a powerful message. And that’s the message that we need to deliver. And that’s the message we need to work on delivering. It’s a winning message, but it’s a difficult message to get to because the gateway issue of immigration stands in the minds of so many people who we live next to and love.

And what we have given the world, on issue after issue, is a light. A light that shines upon the world, and says that all human beings are endowed by God their creator with rights. That the source of those rights are not your king, your president, your laws or your government, but that you’re born with them. And because of that, anything you want to do, you should have a chance to be. Doesn’t matter where you were born, or where you came from, or whether your last name ends in a vowel. That’s who we have been, and if this century is to be an American Century, we have to figure out a way to make sure that that is who we remain.

I know Rubio has said “no” to a VP pick this year, but we can all dream, can’t we? There are so many young stars in this current Freshman class, I just hope America can survive until they reach those points in their careers where they are ready to run.

While Our Divorced Parents Fight & Embarrass Us in Public, I’m Taking This Time to Test Out Some New Themes For My Site

From the Desk of MsU ~

As you all know who have been reading (or trying to read) my blog lately, I have been suffering from several things: On a brief hiatus; recovering from a debilitating health problem; having problems with bad HTML codes; experimenting with new themes for customization (with as little of a financial impact on me as possible, which is very key); and a slight burnout on these embarrassing weeks of GOP on GOP in-fighting.

I gotta tell ya folks; this kind of reminds me of something a friend of mine recently went through. She and her siblings agreed to meet with their now-divorced parents for dinner. While at the restaurant after exchanging shallow pleasantries, her parents began immediately engaging in loud and boisterous arguing about what the other had done wrong in the marriage. Dad was yelling at mom, and mom was yelling at dad, and it wasn’t meant, quite clearly, to bridge any relationship gaps that had formed since their divorce many years ago.

As the other patrons at the restaurant were clearly becoming more and more uncomfortable at the tenor of the fight, my friend and her siblings found themselves sinking lower and lower in their chairs. They were PRAYING for the food to come so hopefully the food would shut the mouths of their parents and stop them from this very public debacle. But that didn’t happen. The food came and sat there while they continued to bellow at each other, while all the kids gave each other that knowing look – “we gotta get out of here!”

So quietly, as the arguing continued, the children got up slowly attempting to appear as they needed to go to the restrooms, all the while knowing they were headed out the door. Their parents didn’t even notice. And that was fine with the kids. They found themselves reaching the door, slipping quietly out, and as soon as the doors shut, they turned and yelled at the restaurant doors: “WILL YOU BOTH PLEASE SHUT THE HELL UP?” They knew their parents couldn’t hear them, but they just had to say it. Mom and dad embarrassed the HELL out of them! They decided they couldn’t take it anymore, and they were just delighted to be out of earshot of the warring sides.

That, my friends, is how I feel today about the mud-slinging that is going on between Mitt & Newt. And you know who the losers are? We, the American People. The sad part? So many of us are so disgusted we might just stay at home and refuse to meet them at the “restaurant” EVER AGAIN! You know who that helps? Barack Obama. Yet we are so tired of the pettiness of the primaries at this point, we just don’t give a damn. Yes, at the end of the primary, we will almost certainly go whole-hog behind the GOP nominee because we know America cannot survive another term of Barack Obama, but we will NEVER forgive our “parents” for doing this to us in the first place.

Have all elections before this been nasty and unseemly? Of course. But this is such a crucial time that we cannot afford to chance ANYTHING! I know we have nine months to go until the election, but I almost cannot bear the thought of even 2 more months of this going on. I’m a news junkie, and I listen to talk radio all day at work. But lately, I’ve been listening to music and only music…I have to escape for a while to retain my sanity. I even hate the negative attack ads on TV and radio, but there is one possible upside to all of this; hopefully everything that can be dug up about Newt, Mitt and Santorum will be dug up before the general election begins.

The one thing I do know, however, is when the general election does begin, the Obama machine will probably wipe all of our collective memories clean of all the primary filth that was washed across our TV screens each day and night. It will bring campaign politics to an all-time low, as the O Machine will have more cash than any campaign ever before, and will have surrogates across all mediums including Hollywood, the mainstream media, the Race Pimp Industry and its leaders, MSNBC, the liberal press (both print and online), the music industry, Oprah Winfrey, George Soros, the Unions, Van Jones, Podesta’s “Center for American Progress,” and too many others to mention.

I am convinced that the DNC and leftists in general were wholly and completely behind the demise of Herman Cain. I’ve known Herman Cain for a while, and every single tramp that was trotted out by Gloria Allred, or who came out on their own (anonymously), were all lying about what they said about Herman Cain. If what Cain did to them was SOOOO egregious, where is Gloria now? Where is Sharon Bialik now? If these women were so aggrieved, why aren’t they continuing to pursue Herman now? Because they have NOTHING to prove he is guilty of what they accused him. Gloria is a feminazi publicity whore, and I see she has now moved on to bigger and better things now. Does this woman have no shame? Oh, wait… that’s right, she doesn’t. How does she manage to sleep at night? Hey, I know…PROBABLY ALONE – EVERY SINGLE NIGHT!

And do you know why they had to destroy Herman Cain so quickly? Because even though they thought Herman couldn’t win the primary, he could possibly continue onward and perhaps get a nod for V.P. for one of the others. And the one thing the Obama campaign and the DNC needed to keep in their arsenal was the race card. So for them to get rid of Herman early was priority number one. They couldn’t stand to see a successful black man, who was a conservative man of faith, with a wife of 43 years and LOADS of successful business experience. Herman, I was rooting for you, and prayed for you to stay in for the distance and fight the left. However, I know what you’ve been through with your health and everything else – you did what you had to do. After all, as you’ve often said, family comes first. Your wife Gloria is one of the luckiest women alive. Mz. Allred has disgraced her good first name. I am happy you don’t have to put up with this crap anymore, Herman, but this country is going to miss out on having you as someone of prominence in national government where you could truly make a difference.

Make no mistake, however. Whomever winds up being the general election candidate would be wise to consider you for any of the many Cabinet secretaries, for which you would be a tremendous asset: Treasury, OMB, DOD, Commerce, Energy, just to name a few.

But I digress. If you see some differences on my site in the near future, please bear with me as I experiment with it. I am not completely ignoring politics, but like my friend’s parent, right now I’m just embarrassed and want them to shut the hell up. I’ll keep one eye on the news, the other eye on the blog.

I pray this country can make it through the next year, and I hope we can make Obama a true one-term president. Because I’m afraid if we don’t, a “lame duck” Obama presidency will be the most single dangerous thing our country has ever seen, and I’m not so sure we can make it through it without becoming a failed pseudo-socialist state, sinking alongside the other European countries.

Paul Ryan Lays Out the Budget Political Divide on Fox News Sunday (VIDEO)

This is just another reason why I’m sad that Ryan isn’t running for POTUS this year. However, as effective and convicted as he is about budgetary matters, perhaps he can truly achieve more in the House. Either way, I’m just glad our side has such a strong proponent of capitalism and the importance of having a budget. Video courtesy Fox News Sunday:

America…PLEASE wake up to this class warfare game that the Dems and Obama are playing. Their policies are so antithetical to prosperity, it’s no wonder that those who are in the dependent classes in America fall for this tripe every time. The ones who get the goodies are the ones who vote for those who give the goodies. But sooner or later, we will all be out of goodies to give, and who will be to blame? All of us, truthfully, because we aren’t engaged in this fight as much as we should be in order to see the change we need.

Today’s “This Week” Is Must-See TV! (VIDEOS)

Today on ABC’s This Week, Christiane Amanpour, hosted a “Great American Debate” about the size and scope of government. Panelists included Rep. Paul Ryan, George Will, Rep. Barney Frank, and Robert Reich.

You simply must watch this entire thing… it’s absolute brilliance from George Will and Paul Ryan, and well…. just lefty talking points from Barney Frank and Robert Reich.

I wonder what it would take to get Paul Ryan to reconsider running for President this time? It’s worth a shot, don’t you think?
