American Muslim Organization Applauds Oklahoma’s New Anti-Shariah Law

GOOD NEWS! If any of you have been watching or listening to any of the major talk shows lately, certainly you’ve heard of Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser. He’s the president and founder of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD), and in light of the recent Oklahoma law, the organization has issued a press release lauding the passage of the law. Here’s a portion of the press release:

“As Muslims dedicated to modernity, reform and our one law system in the west and in the United States, AIFD applauds the people of Oklahoma for passing State Question 755 and making “the legal precepts of other nations or cultures” off-limits to Oklahoma courts and specifically denying the use of Sharia Law.

The issue is simple. As Americans we believe in the Constitution, the Establishment Clause, and our one law system. SQ755 reaffirms the First amendment to the Constitution and prevents the Establishment or empowerment of a foreign legal system like the specific shariah legal systems implemented in many Muslim majority nations and in western shariah courts seen in places like Britain.

By filing a lawsuit, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has wasted no time in proving once again that they are unable to stand behind public declarations that the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights and our one law system supersede and are preferable to a sharia law system. They are using the American cover of religious freedom to try and knock down a simple law that prohibits the domination of one religion over others.

I have great respect and admiration for Dr. Jasser and his organization, and so many Americans have called for more moderate Muslims to speak out against jihad and radical Islamic extremists. So, I find it only fair that when groups like AIFD do this, it’s only right that it should be noted and congratulated. Well done, Dr. Jasser…well done.

Juan Williams Eviscerates NPR in His OWN Talking Points Memo! (VIDEO)

In case you’ve been on another planet the past couple of days, Juan Williams was recently fired from NPR for “offensive” comments he recently made on Fox News regarding having an uncomfortable fear of seeing Muslims in traditional garb, boarding airplaines he is aboard. Tonight, as promised, Juan Williams sat in for Bill O’Reilly. In Juan’s own “Talking Points Memo,” he took the fabulous opportunity to skewer his critics, most notably, NPR CEO & President, Vivian Schiller, for alluding to the idea that Juan might be “unstable” with her comment about him needing to work out this situation with his “psychiatrist” or his publicist.

Juan then proceeds to point out many other NPR staffers who are STILL in their employ, who have said far worse things than he ever has – only thing is, they denigrated conservatives, so that’s cool with NPR. Juan didn’t tow the liberal company NPR line, so he was tossed out. Oh, well, sucks to be NPR. But for Juan? He has two million reasons to be happy that he has a NEW contract with FNC; an employer who will actually have his back, and not jam him up when it’s politically expedient for the viewers.

And for those of you who say Ailes did the same thing? Remember, Juan was and is a liberal, and will ALWAYS be true to his liberal beliefs. He just now sees the light as to how the oh-so-tolerant Left can be.

Juan, you just increased your capital and cred ten-fold, and I’m happy to be able to continue to have you to watch on FNC. Yes, I’ll still be yelling at you in disagreement, but damnit, that’s what it’s supposed to be like – agree to disagree, but believe what you say, and say what you believe. Juan is one of those rare birds who will always be true to himself, therefore a proven asset for any company for whom he could work.

Juan Williams on Bill O’Reilly Tonight: A Full Rundown of Events (VIDEO)

Juan came on O’Reilly’s show tonight to give a rundown of what happened between he and NPR. God bless you, Juan, for not backing down. And thank you, Roger Ailes, for giving Juan a more lucrative contract, for an extended period of time, and for a more expanded role on Fox News.

Liberal media loses BIG time, because, as always, regardless of politics, it is CONSERVATIVES who come to the defense of others in free speech matters (see Imus, et. al). NPR, you are shameless in the way you treated Juan. Seriously, it’s now between Juan and his “psychiatrist?” Really? REALLY??

HOORAY JUAN!

Herman Cain Treats Bloggers at the AFP Summit to a Sit-Down Interview (VIDEO)

One of the guest speakers for the mid-day Opening Session luncheon, Herman Cain, popped in to the AFP Bloggers’ Row, and to our tremendous surprise, he was willing to give us all a sit-down interview. The whole group got to ask him questions, one at a time, about what his political plans are for the future, and solutions he would propose to fix the problems in our nation today.

For those of you who don’t know Herman, he’s a much-beloved Atlanta talk show host on WSB Radio. He’s also a staunch proponent of the Fair Tax. Herman Cain has quite an impressive bio, and here is just a portion of it from his website:

In 1986, Pillsbury appointed Cain to the presidency of the then financially troubled Godfather’s Pizza, Inc. chain headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. In 14 short months, under Cain’s leadership, the chain regained profitability. In 1988, he led his executive team in a buyout of the company from Pillsbury.

Cain was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Restaurant Association in 1988. In 1994 to 1995, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors. While leading this association, he developed the organization into a pro-business voice via national debates and speeches concerning health care reform, employment policies, and taxation. Following this experience, he was appointed to serve on the Economic Growth and Tax Reform Commission in addition to serving as Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He then became a senior advisor to the 1996 Dole/Kemp campaign for the Presidency.

Herman Cain continued the responsibilities of President and Chairman of Godfather’s Pizza, Incorporated, while beginning a second career delivering national keynote speeches. Using his messages as the foundation, he created his own leadership consulting company, The THE New Voice, Inc. THE New Voice packages his speaking and develops his products, including books, DVDs, CDs of gospel music, and promotes his keynote speeches. He has authored four books to date on topics ranging from leadership to self-empowerment including Leadership is Common Sense and CEO of Self.

Herman is a force to be reckoned with, and as I Tweeted during the AFP Summit, Herman told us at the Georgia Luncheon he’s gone from being in “prayerful consideration” to running for President in 2012, to now being in “serious consideration.” And for those of you who don’t know Herman like Georgians know Herman, I’d pay good money to see a debate between him and our current POTUS. Obama wouldn’t know what hit him. And Herman doesn’t need a teleprompter, either.

Scott Brown’s Victory Speech in MA Tonight: “Me Against the Machine? No It Was ALL Of Us Against the Machine!” (VIDEOs)

Again, wow… just wow. The formerly-believed-to-be eternal seat for Dems was taken away tonight by the MA special election to fill Teddy “The Swimmer” Kennedy’s seat. Scott Brown won handily against lackluster candidate, Martha Coakley. Martha wasn’t helped by any stretch of the imagination, when she said Curt Schilling was a Yankee fan. This was the ultimate in tone-deafness in Red Sox territory. If that wasn’t bad enough, Coakley thought shaking hands outside of Fenway Park was a waste of time. What a mind-numbed idiot this one was. Obama wasted what little political capital he had left on this moron, and I don’t feel sorry for her (or him) one bit.

In my mind, this was political karma, and it bit Martha in the ass…BIG time! And if you never thought it before, Scott Brown has proven himself to be one class act – he gave congrats to Coakley, Obama and other notable Dems. He even paid homage to the Kennedy family, and I don’t think he even mentioned party in ANY of this speech. Want to know why? It’s no longer about the “R” or the “D;” it’s about principles and values, and you can have both in either party – or you can have neither and owe your soul to the devil. Scott Brown gets it – do you?

I think Scott Brown’s election in MA is just a harbinger of things to come. And I hope it’s one of reclamation of States’ rights and a return to American values including reduced size of government, less spending, and fewer instrusions into our prive lives. I love this man, and if nobody thought we had a leading conservative candidate before tonight, that doubt should be erased. Scott Brown is the “everyman,” and his family is damn near close to a Norman Rockwell portrait. He should be seated tomorrow at the LATEST!

Today gave me hope for the future of this Republic. Folks, we cannot stop now – we must forge forward and begin to reclaim what is rightfully ours, rights that were divinely granted as inalienable. The government wants to take those away, but hopefully with folks like Scott in the Senate, we can slowly work our way back to a time where individual and states’ rights mattered.

And a time where government gets the HELL out of our way!

P.S. Can someone please tell Patrick Kennedy to go take some more drugs, drinks, and crash into the Senate building barricades? He’ll achieve much more than he is in trying to help his deluded family in keeping Scott Brown out of the PEOPLES’ seat in Massachusetts.
