Tea Party Express with Griff Jenkins in Waco, TX (VIDEO)

Griff Jenkins in his nightly update of the Tea Party Express making its way to D.C. for the March on 9/12. Tonight he was in Waco, and spoke to Martha McCallum, who was sitting in for Greta. The Tea Party folks were a wide variety, including a young rapper, who was pretty cool.

I am so PSYCHED about this! I am going to be in D.C. on 9/12, and I’ll have plenty of photos and vids to post after that. There will probably be at LEAST a million people there! WOOHOO! Patriotism rides again!

Axelrod Says Tea Party Goers Are ‘Unhealthy’ (VIDEO)

From CNN.com:

Senior White House adviser David Axelrod on Sunday suggested the “Tea Party” movement is an “unhealthy” reaction to the tough economic climate facing the country.

Axelrod was asked on CBS’s “Face the Nation” about the “spreading and very public disaffection” with the president’s fiscal policies seen at the “Tea Party” rallies around the country last week.

“I think any time you have severe economic conditions there is always an element of disaffection that can mutate into something that’s unhealthy,” Axelrod said.

Axelrod appeared to backtrack when pressed on whether the movement is unhealthy.

“Well, this is a country where we value our liberties and our ability to express ourselves, and so far these are expressions,” he said.

This goes to show just how out of touch the political class is with We The People. This whole thing stinks to high heaven, and underscores the seriousness of this administration’s DHS Threat Assessment of “right-wing extremists.” This is just a harbinger of things to come.

Atlanta Tea Party

Okay, folks. It’s almost 2AM EST. I’m pooped and watching all the shows from tonight on TV. There were almost 20,000 people in downtown Atlanta tonight, and I can attest to it – I was in the THICK of it! Not enough time (or energy) right now to go into it, but look for the days ahead of some coverage of the Tea Parties.

Joe the Plumber on Real Time with Bill Maher (VIDEO)

Hooray for Joe… he didn’t take any of Maher’s guff. I think this was one of his better interviews, however, Maher seemed kind of meek in his presence. Wonder why? Perhaps Joe really cares about folks, but Maher just pretends to.

Perhaps. The one thing I’m in complete agreement with Joe is “The FairTax.” Look it up – it’s not just a bill; it’s a movement. One that is a long-time coming and one we could really use right now.

U.S. Gas Prices Low in Comparison to European Countries

You think gas prices are high here in the U.S.? Hogwash. Yes, they are high according to what we had been paying for in the past, but it’s a real bargain when compared to what some other countries are paying. From an article in Time:

As American drivers groan over prices nearing $4 a gallon, the French are paying $8.67 for a gallon of super, compared to $7.10 in January, 2007. A gallon of diesel in French gas stations averages $8.54, up from $5.35 just a year ago. And in the U.K. diesel costs $11.50 per gallon, compared to around $3.90 in the U.S. Across the European Union, the average cost of a gallon of gas runs to about $8.70 — more than twice what Americans are shelling out to fill up.

And do you want to know what is the culprit of the higher prices in Europe?

One big reason for the difference is that European governments put a much higher tax burden on fuel than the U.S. does. State and federal taxes currently make up just 11% of the pump price in the U.S., according to the Energy Information Administration; in France and the U.K., taxes account for an average of around 70%.

You hear that folks? Higher taxes.

So tell me this; just how is it that we’re going to lower gas prices in the U.S. by buying into the Democrats’ plans of taking over the oil companies, and/or their “record profits,” and having the U.S. Government run them? The answer is we won’t be lowering gas prices if we elect a Democrat as President. Higher taxes only means a higher price for everything we buy. When will Americans wake up, get out of this “I want my mommy!” phase and realize that we have to take care of ourselves? We cannot depend on the government for everything we need; that’s up for each and every individual to achieve for themselves.

Fairtax anyone?

Huckabee Explains the FairTax at the Debate (VIDEO)

FINALLY, at tonight’s Republican debate in Boca Raton, FL, someone (McCain) challenged Gov. Mike Huckabee on the FairTax. And even better than than, Tim Russert followed up with the 30% consumption tax fallacy that is always the primary anti-FairTax argument.

The FairTax is also being touted by noted professors of economics everywhere. Folks, if you have any doubts about the FairTax, please order the upcoming book, “The Fair Tax: The Truth – Answering the Critics” by GA Congressman John Linder and Neal Boortz. Or, if you don’t have the time nor desire to do that, just read the FAQs here.

Watch Huckabee explain his support of the FairTax here.
