From the YouTube video:

The Commandant of the Marine Corps and Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps present the 236th Marine Corps birthday message and honor the 10th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, and how the events shaped the lives of Marines past and present.

Stossel Talks With Gary Sinise About His Work With the Troops & How 9/11 Affected Him (VIDEO)

This weekend on John Stossel’s show, he talked with Gary Sinise about all the philanthropic work he’s done with the troops, as well as the patriotic themes often seen on his hit show “CSY: NY.” Gary Sinise is one fantastic American, and I never knew just how many groups he was involved with until I saw this special with Stossel.

Honestly, when does this man sleep? Either way, I salute Gary Sinise and thank God for giving us such a special human being to look up to. If each of us could only give a 10th of what Gary Sinise gives to our fellow man, the whole world would be a brighter place.

Raid on On Osama’s Compound First Reported on Twitter

Drudge didn’t have it first. CNN didn’t have it first. Fox News didn’t have it first. Who was the first to report on the raid on the Pakistani compound where Osama bin Laden was sent to take his eternal celestial dirt nap? A local IT consultant did, that’s who. The story broke as Sohab Athar, the IT consultant who was living in Abbottabad, Tweeted about helicopters swarming overhead and a “window-shaking bang” at around 9pm last night.

Here’s the rest from the UK Daily Record:

Mr Athar, believed to be living near to bin Laden’s compound, wrote his first tweet at about 9pm last night, when he noticed a helicopter.

He then wrote: “A huge window-shaking bang here in Abbottabad Cantt. I hope it’s not the start of something nasty.”
He later added: “Since Taliban (probably) don’t have helicopters, and since they’re saying it was not ‘ours’, so must be a complicated situation.”

The realisation hit him at about 6am today as he wrote: “Uh oh, now I’m the guy who liveblogged the Osama raid without knowing it.”
Under his username ReallyVirtual, he later added: “Interesting, I didn’t think my name would trend on Twitter before releasing a couple of rock albums and a few award-winning software.”

I wonder how long it will take before @ReallyVirtual eclipses Lady Gaga in number of followers.

Oh, and it can’t be said enough…. I LOVE ME SOME NAVY SEALS!

Al Ramirez Considering Running for CA. 36th District to Unseat Democrat Jane Harmon

Cross-posted from a dear friend’s blog. If you don’t know Kender, you are missing out. Please help him out in supporting Al Ramirez’s attempt to unseat Jane Harmon in California.

Al Ramirez, who we last saw running in the primary against Cary Fiorina to unseat Barbara Boxer is considering a run for California’s 36th District. Many times in the last election I heard Fiorina was the best candidate possible as she had the most appeal to independents and could self fund, which turned out to be poppycock. Fiorina was beaten soundly by Boxer and in fact, statewide elections walloped the GOP here in California.

Why? Several reasons. California has a large Hispanic population, and frankly the GOP cannot win without their support. Al Ramirez brings the support of the Hispanic community. The GOP, as has been pointed out ad nauseum, must also appeal to voters under 50. Al Ramirez is under 50 and will appeal to the demographic. Even though he is under 50 Al Ramirez is just the kind of American Success story the California Republican Party (CRP) should be backing in this race. But more about Al Ramirez and his success story later. The final thing the GOP need to do well here in California is to win in Los Angeles County.

That’s a hard thing to do, for several reasons. The county is largely Hispanic for one thing, and Hispanics tend, for some reason, to vote democrat when the vote is for a person and conservative when the vote is for an issue. Witness the last election. Even though democrats stormed Sacramento handily, the propositions on the ballot went heavily in favor of the conservative wishes. The Hispanic vote had a lot to do with that, just like it had a lot to do with Prop. 8 a couple of years back.

Bret Baier Gets Down With His Bad Self at the Bob Hope Classic Dinner (VIDEO)

h/t Mediaite for this soon-to-be classic!

Like my favorite commenter Pablo said on Mediaite’s post, MC Rove you got served by the “Dapper Rapper!” Now if we can just get James Rosen in the mix, that would be HOT!
