Bush Hosts Lunch at White House for All the Presidents (VIDEO)

by MsUnderestimated — Categories: Bill Clinton, GW Bush, Politics In General, Video5 Comments

Today, current President George Bush hosted all living former presidents, and our future one, for a special lunch at the White House.

We need to remember PEBO’s gratefulness to GW Bush, because we don’t hear that often. This is one to keep for the archives.

Fmr. CIA Bin Laden Chief Speaks on Panetta Pick (VIDEO)

Michael Scheuer, former CIA Bin Laden Task Force Chief, gives his take on Obama’s pick of Leon Panetta as the CIA director. Scheuer reminds us of all the attacks by Al Qaeda prior to and including the WTC attacks on 9/11. It’s easy to say, Scheuer doesn’t think this is a wise pick, like most of the rest of us. In fact, in my mind… it’s a downright scary pick!

On record is supporter and former fellow member of the Iraq Study Group member, Lee Hamilton (D), who says Panetta is a good pick, stating: “He will gear the output of the intelligence agency to the priorities of the president.”

Um, yeah… that’s exactly what a lot of us are afraid of.

O’Reilly Spars With Marvin Kalb (VIDEO)

Back in September, O’Reilly appeared on PBS’ show “The Kalb Report,” hosted by Marvin Kalb, one of O’Reilly’s former professors and current Fox News contributor.

h/t to Brad Wilmouth who has a partial transcript at Newsbusters:

MARVIN KALB: Do you believe that a President who avoided military service himself should be sending young men and women to fight in what are called “wars of choice”?

O’REILLY: Are you talking about Bill Clinton? Is that who we’re talking about?

[PAUSE]

KALB: Um, no.

O’REILLY: No?

[AUDIENCE LAUGHS]

O’REILLY: Who are you talking about?

KALB: I’m talking about George W. Bush.

O’REILLY: He was in the National Guard.

KALB: That’s a different issue.

O’REILLY: Wasn’t he President?

KALB: No, we can talk about-

O’REILLY: No, no, no. You posed a question with the word “President” in it-

KALB: Bill Clinton did not start a war such as the Iraq war. Bill Clinton-

O’REILLY: Bosnia, Kosovo, was that?

KALB: Well, hardly that.

O’REILLY: It was hardly that? It was an intervention by the United States over in the Balkans.

KALB: Bill, you’re doing very well, but you’re not answering the question. And you know darn well you’re not answering the question.

O’REILLY: No, it was another left-wing question.

KALB: I want to know

O’REILLY: You wanted to hit Bush, and then I hit you with Clinton, and you were going, “Uh-oh, I forgot about him.” Come on.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUSE]

O’REILLY: Now I’ll answer the question. If the American people elect the Commander-in-Chief-

KALB: What you have just done, what you have just done is a classic O’Reilly.

O’REILLY: Of course. I’m right.

Of course, O’Reilly is full of himself. Some hate him, some love him, but I just like it when he sticks it to a deserving liberal.

How Hillary Celebrates MLK Day

You know folks, Bill Clinton was here in Atlanta today, along with others like Huckabee and Obama, to celebrate MLK day at Ebenezer Baptist Church. And as one of the King relatives spoke, he conveyed to the congregation (and those of us who were watching on TV) that in the recent past, the IRS had “reminded” them that having any politician speak there during a political race would not be a good idea on the King Center’s part. However, seeing as how Bill Clinton is only the spouse of a political candidate, it was mighty fine then that he could speak. And speak he did. Yes, he did acknowledge Mike Huckabee, but he also acknowledged the accomplishments of his entire life, political and non-political, to the entire congregation. Reading between the lines, I distinctly heard “if you elect my wife, I will help her generate new jobs just like I did.” His appearance and speech was about as a-political as Huckabee is an atheist.

So, lest we forget Hillary’s recent faux pas about MLK, my favorite political cartoonist Michael Ramirez is kind enough to remind us.

I would post video of the ceremony here, but watching it real-time live was enough torture for me for one day. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. One of the next speakers at the event was an African-American female bishop who decided it was necessary to somehow weave in Weapons of Mass Destruction in her speech about “freedom.” A-political my ass!
