Recently on the Discovery Channel, they had a special on the takedown of the Somali Pirates who boarded the American-flagged ship, Maersk Alabama, and took Capt. Richard Phillips hostage for four days. This documentary included some re-enactments, but mostly some brand new, never-before seen footage taken from the USS Bainbridge and the USS Halliburton, of the lifeboat from which the pirates sought safe passage and negotitation – but oh, how misguided they were.
This just proves ones thing – don’t MESS with the Navy SEALs, and furthermore DO NOT MESS with America…PERIOD!
This afternoon, the Maersk Captain who was held captive by Somali terrorists was finally brought home. He took about a minute and a half to speak to the press, and the world for that matter, and said it wasn’t him that was the hero – it was the military and the Navy SEALs.
Navy SEALs attacked the life boat, a firefight ensued, 3 of the Somali TERRORISTS were killed, but one was captured. They’re going to see about bringing him here for a trial in American Federal Courts.

Not only are they disallowing people from entering, but they’re trying to not let folks out. After much cajoling, you can hear a couple of the Pinkos yell “LET ‘EM OUT, BUT NOT IN!” What a bunch of pukes. And I’m personally embarrassed about the lack of action by the BPD. Shame on you all. Somalia hasn’t had a functioning government for so long that they’re bound to be mired in conflict 365 days a year, so this is really no surprise. The Islamofascists don’t want international peace-keeping forces there. Gee, I wonder why?
MOGADISHU – Officials from Somalia’s powerful Islamic movement and weak government prepared Thursday for Arab-mediated talks aimed at easing tensions that threaten to plunge the anarchic nation into further chaos.
With the two sides deeply at odds on numerous issues, notably the proposed deployment of foreign peacekeepers to shore up the government’s limited authority, the teams headed to Sudan for a much-delayed second round of talks.
In Khartoum the Sudanese government will be hosting open-ended Arab League-mediated negotiations that are to begin with a ceremonial opening Friday and get underway in earnest Saturday.
Amid mounting concern over Somalia since the Islamists, some of whom are accused of Al Qaeda links, seized Mogadishu in June, it is hoped that the talks will restore at least a semblance of stability in the lawless Horn of Africa nation.
The Islamist delegation flew into the Sudanese capital from Mogadishu, from where they have rapidly expanded their territory and begun enforcing strict Sharia law in what many see as a direct threat to the transitional government.
They first met in Khartoum June 22, after the Islamists took Mogadishu, and inked a mutual recognition pact and truce but have since traded accusations of violations and a planned second round has been repeatedly delayed.
Hmm…. they must have been demanding a “time-table for withdrawal,” and having a stale-mate instead.

Ethiopia and Somali officials have repeatedly denied eyewitness accounts of Ethiopian soldiers in Somalia, but even as the Islamists left for Khartoum, they were demanding their removal and an end to calls for peacekeepers.
“If the government fails to drop its call for troops then and all efforts of talking to their representatives is meaningless,” said Sheikh Muktar Robow, deputy head of security for the Supreme Islamic Council of Somalia (SICS).
“What we need is an honest discussion free of geo-political interests from neighboring countries that are crying for the deployment of their troops to Somalia,” he said.
But the leader of the government delegation, parliament speaker Sharif Hassan Sheikh Aden, rejected the Islamists’ preconditions for the meeting.
“Preconditions are a setback to progress at the negotiations,” he said in Nairobi, where he was en route to Khartoum. “I have no preconditions at all, the Somali government is keen to achieve a lasting peace through talks.”
Despite his concerns Aden said that he hoped that the negotiations would bear fruit.
“I am optimistic the two sides will reach amicable solutions to resolve the crisis,” he said.
In addition to the alleged Ethiopian deployment, the Islamists are fiercely opposed to government-backed, African Union-endorsed plans to send a regional peacekeeping mission to Somalia.
And what a freaking shock that is… NOT!
Makes me wonder what would be happening now in that region if we would have stayed the course, and had a President with REAL balls when our guys went into Mogadishu earlier – not just a President intent on getting his balls licked.
