Happy Veterans’ Day To All Our Heroes (VIDEO)

I have nothing more to say today than a hearty “thank you” to all the veterans who have served this country so bravely and valiantly. There is no more a fitting tribute than Trace Adkins singing his hit song, ‘Till the Last Shot’s Fired‘ at an earlier Academy of Country Music Awards show.

And thank you to the West Point Glee Club who accompanied Trace on this song. If you don’t need a tissue while watching this video, you don’t have a soul. God bless our men and women who have served, and continue to provide us the freedoms we so often take for granted.

And a BIG thank you to Trace Adkins. Love you, man.

Stossel Talks With Gary Sinise About His Work With the Troops & How 9/11 Affected Him (VIDEO)

This weekend on John Stossel’s show, he talked with Gary Sinise about all the philanthropic work he’s done with the troops, as well as the patriotic themes often seen on his hit show “CSY: NY.” Gary Sinise is one fantastic American, and I never knew just how many groups he was involved with until I saw this special with Stossel.

Honestly, when does this man sleep? Either way, I salute Gary Sinise and thank God for giving us such a special human being to look up to. If each of us could only give a 10th of what Gary Sinise gives to our fellow man, the whole world would be a brighter place.

Bret Baier Makes the Warrior 100K Bike Ride With George W. Bush & Some Wounded Warriors (VIDEO)

From the Warrior 100K Ride homepage:

As part of the George W. Bush Presidential Center’s Social Enterprise Initiative, the Warrior 100K Bike Ride highlighted the bravery and physical strength of the warriors wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan, as well as those organizations that have made continuing commitments to supporting America’s heroes.

The three day event provided an opportunity for military support organizations to highlight their good work and was sponsored by several companies and individuals that have generously contributed their time and resources to support America’s servicemen and women.

Fox News’ Bret Baier joined along in the ride, and reported back on this fantastic cause and the ride itself. Some of the heroes in the story were U.S. Army Specialist Juan Carlos Hernandez, Army Sgt. Major Chris Self, Marine SSgt. Andy Hatcher, Army Sgt. Sam Cila, and Army Specialist Jacob Lerner. The ride took place from April 25th to the 27th of this year.

This bike ride was through the desert southwest part of Texas, and by all accounts was a grueling trek. But even though some sustained damage to their prostheses, or were injured during the ride, there wasn’t a single one who complained. I love to see W. interact with our troops…the relationship is obviously a warm one, and the friendships are felt both ways.

I really admire President Bush and, even more, our heroic men and women in the military who have sacrificed more than most of us can imagine. I hope you all took a few moments of your holiday today and this weekend, and said some prayers and thank-yous to all of them.

By the way, there are many other videos you should check out over on the 100K ride page.

God bless he U.S.A.

Amazing Artist Kaziah Hancock Reveals Newest Portrait on The View (VIDEO)

I’m sure that y’all have heard about this wonderful painter, Kaziah Hancock, but if you haven’t, she and her team paint portraits of fallen soldiers, and gives them to the family members as sweet, precious gifts.

Kaziah was on The View today, and she was ready to reveal her newest portrait to Lisa Beckerman McGregor, whose son, Michael Beckerman, was killed in Afghanistan when insurgents attacked his unit with an IED only five months earlier.

Kaziah has a true servant’s heart, and it almost feels like she’s adopted all the families she’s helped. As Elisabeth tearfully notes, it’s very touching that Lisa notes it’s like Kaziah “gives them back for a moment.”

If you want to help Kaziah and her team continue to paint these portraits, please visit their website and do what you can.

h/t HotAir:

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says President Barack Obama is making a late-night statement but is not announcing the topic that he will discuss.

Officials say the statement could come as early as 10:30 p.m. EDT.

It is highly unusual that the president would make a late-night statement with not even a hint about what he would discuss.

Details are still coming out…stay tuned.

***UPDATE 10:58 PM ET***

Via ABC News:

Osama bin Laden, hunted as the mastermind behind the worst-ever terrorist attack on U.S. soil, has been killed, sources told ABC News.

His death brings to an end a tumultuous life that saw bin Laden go from being the carefree son of a Saudi billionaire, to terrorist leader and the most wanted man in the world.

Bin Laden created and funded the al Qaeda terror network, which was responsible for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States. The Saudi exile had been a man on the run since the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan overthrew the ruling Taliban regime, which harbored bin Laden.

In a video filmed two months after the Sept. 11 attacks, bin Laden gloated about the attack, saying it had exceeded even his “optimistic” calculations.

“Our terrorism is against America. Our terrorism is a blessed terrorism to prevent the unjust person from committing injustice and to stop American support for Israel, which kills our sons,” he said in the video.

Further updates coming, for sure.

***UPDATE 11:10 PM ET***

CNN is reporting that UBL was killed in a mansion in Islamabad, Pakistan. DNA samples obtained from blood relatives allegedly confirm the identity of the person killed in that strike on the mansion in Islamabad.

***UPDATE 11:13 PM ET***

Fox News’ Jennifer Griffin reports to Geraldo that it is confirmed that Osama bin Laden is dead. The intelligence agency has had the DNA samples for decades from relatives, and that is what was used to confirm the identity of the body. Reports say that it happened a week ago, and that the DNA match is the reason for the delay of the identification of the body. Conflicting accounts also say it was a US-led bomb strike in Pakistan, but others are reporting that it was a bullet that killed bin Laden.

Stay tuned for further updates…

***UPDATE 11:47 PM ET****

New info about UBL’s killing – by American hands:

President Barack Obama says Osama bin Laden, the glowering mastermind behind the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks that killed thousands of Americans, was killed in an operation led by the United States.

A small team of Americans carried out the attack and took custody of bin Laden’s remains, the president said Sunday in a dramatic late-night statement at the White House.

I LOVE OUR AMERICAN MILITARY AND INTELLIGENCE OFFICERS! THEY ARE the heroes of today!

***UPDATE 11:55 PM ET***

Info courtesy of HotAir about the firefight between UBL & US Teams:

Update (AP): The city where they got him is named Abbottabad. It’s not in the tribal areas; it’s in the northeastern part of the country, just 40 miles from the seat of government in Islamabad. A telling aside from O’s speech: He said that he called Pakistan’s president after the incident to let him know — which, presumably, means there wasn’t Pakistani cooperation after all. As I said earlier, relations between us will never be the same.

Good news continues to pile in… stay tuned!
