How Great Thou Art by Carrie Underwood (VIDEO)

No, this is not a new video. I just ran across it viewing other things, and as I watched I realized tears were streaming down my cheeks. I remember my Granny, who is now passed on, singing this in church when I was just a little girl. I remember her finding it my hymnal for me, and as I stood there beside her, I held her hand and swayed with her as we both sang this beautiful hymn praising Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Granny, this one’s for you. I know you remember us singing this, too. I also remember you playing it on your piano at home. I miss you so very much.

If This Doesn’t Touch You, Nothing Will – Please Share (VIDEOS)

h/t TheRightScoop

This is apparently going viral, although the YouTube view count doesn’t show it (how can a video have almost 3,000 “likes” yet only have 307 views?). This is the heart-wrenching story of Ben Breedlove, as he relates it in a two-part, hauntingly beautiful way, using hand-written words on cards for the world to read.

From The Right Scoop piece:

Ben had just created these videos a few days ago as it was uploaded on December 18. I haven’t confirmed this, but it’s all over the net right now and also in Kudi’s remarks. Apparently Ben passed away on Christmas night. RIP.

The beautifully, haunting melodic music is a song called “Mad World” by Gary Jules, and quite fitting it is for this story. The chorus contains the following lines:

And I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you, I find it hard to take
When people run in circles its a very, very
Mad world, mad world

Be at peace, sweet Ben. Be at peace. I only wish I’d have known you in real life.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

December 25, 2011 From Management, Holidays No Comments

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Merry Christmas!

May 2012 be better and brighter for us all.

My apologies to my readers for my absence. I’ve been nursing a torn muscle, waiting to see a specialist (more about that in another post), and trying to get it to heal. Which muscle did I tear? My groin muscle! AGH! That’s why I’ve not been posting very much because it’s painful to sit…well not so much to sit, but to stand up after sitting for a while and the muscle wants to stretch out. OUCH! Hopefully I’ll get this resolved soon. I miss posting so much.

Again, a very Merry Christmas from me to you and yours.

***BREAKING*** North Korean Dictator, Kim Jong Il is Dead

From Reuters:

Kim Jong Il, North Korea’s mercurial and enigmatic leader, has died. He was 69.

Kim’s death was announced Monday by state television from the North Korean capital, Pyongyang.

Kim is believed to have suffered a stroke in 2008 but appeared relatively vigorous in photos and video from recent trips to China and Russia and in numerous trips around the country carefully documented by state media.

It is going to be a very Merry Christmas, isn’t it? Obama will take credit for the death of this tyrant in 3….2….1….

Now, in an homage to the hit movie, Team America World Police, here’s a palate cleanser for today’s news:

Gotta love me some Team America!

Today’s “This Week” Is Must-See TV! (VIDEOS)

Today on ABC’s This Week, Christiane Amanpour, hosted a “Great American Debate” about the size and scope of government. Panelists included Rep. Paul Ryan, George Will, Rep. Barney Frank, and Robert Reich.

You simply must watch this entire thing… it’s absolute brilliance from George Will and Paul Ryan, and well…. just lefty talking points from Barney Frank and Robert Reich.

I wonder what it would take to get Paul Ryan to reconsider running for President this time? It’s worth a shot, don’t you think?
