It’s amazing what I’m finding on the web tonight, seeing the libs and progressives jumping to conclusions about the motives of Jared Loughner, when nobody can really know what was in his mind. We do know, however, from other details, that he’s most probably not a tea party afficionado or devotee. Nevertheless, teh oh-so-tolerant lefites have some warm affection and love to send to the Tea Party conservatives.
I’ll begin with my favorite of all tonight:
“The Tucson Tea Party will be made to pay for the blood on their hands. An eye for an eye. You want a civil war, you got one. KILL Jesse Kelly for his role, then KILL Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Gleen Beck. Whoever puts BULLETS in ther HEADSshall be a NATIONAL HERO.”
That’s just from one commenter in a story in The Hill today. Here’s a screenshot of the entire comment – I’m hoping that someone will share this with the appropriate law enforcement personnel.
Here are some more gems I’ve found, with corresponding annotation:
“Tea Party followers think before you speak. This organization is just motivated by hate and has no agenda except instigating violence, but remember you reap what you sow.”
“The anger and hatred of the Tea Party as shown in the comments section of many online news sources are irresponsible and are likely catalysts much like the radicals of the sixties. Violence is the next step… and because of health insurance?” (This one just cracks me up, it’s so ludicrous…radicals of the 60s?)
On the heels of the mass murder and shooting at a Tucson “Congress on Your Corner” event with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, which left 6 dead and twelve injured, Democrat Sheriff of Pima County, AZ, Clarence Dupnik blames Jared Loughner’s mass slaughter on “vitriolic rhetoric” coming from talk radio. He says that we must all remember that psychos like Loughner are more susceptible to this vitriol coming from the “radio business” and the “TV business,” and its message about “tearing down the government.” (Read = Tea Party, Talk Radio, and Fox News)
Huh?
He also says that all members of Congress, and really all elected officials, face a threat at some point or the other in their careers due to the contentious nature of the laws and bills passed, legislative decisions made, and that unfortunately, Arizona has become the “mecca for prejudice and bigotry” since S.B. 1070 passed. Since when is it the Pima County Sheriff’s countenance to deem what is socially right or wrong, especially when it’s spoken in ignorance of the law? And Sheriff Dupnik might want to reserve his judgment until all is discovered about this case, considering some of Jared’s favorite reads include “Mein Kampf” and “The Communist Manifesto.” Yeah… a real right-wing extremist, for sure.
The only video he has listed as a “favorite” on his YouTube channel is called “America: Your Last Memory In A Terrorist Country!” which features someone in disguise, burning an American flag, all to the tune of “Let the Bodies Hit the Floor” by Drowning Pool. In this video, there’s also an inserted comment that calls local police “cult leaders.” Yeah, real big Tea Party ideology going on there. /sarc
“Animal Farm, Brave New World, The Wizard Of OZ, Aesop Fables, The Odyssey, Alice Adventures Into Wonderland, Fahrenheit 451, Peter Pan, To Kill A Mockingbird, We The Living, Phantom Toll Booth, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Pulp,Through The Looking Glass, The Communist Manifesto, Siddhartha, The Old Man And The Sea, Gulliver’s Travels, Mein Kampf, The Republic, and Meno.”
UPDATE:
These videos were plucked from his YouTube account, just in case it gets scrubbed like his MySpace page did, and uploaded to my account at LiveLeak. Here they are in succession:
Today, as the first session of the 112th Congress started, they began by a reading of the U.S. Constitution. Well, at least parts of it. They left out portions of it because apparently they felt some might find those sections offensive, so it wasn’t done for brevity. What section might you think they left out due to sensitivity? Why, it’s the “3/5th’s Clause” part, silly!
This clause falls into the same category as the following items:
On their face, these all sound nice and reasonable, but they’re all misnomers. If not misnomers, they’re at least deceptively named to the average uneducated American (which, by some accounts, is a large percentage of folks everywhere).
Boiling it down, the “3/5th’s Clause” in the Constutition does state the black men were three-fifths of a man. Bad, right? Well, if you don’t know the background and reason for the clause, then you would be correct. Sadly, a lot of Americans stop right there. And apparently an educated man like Lanny Davis is also ignorant of the truth behind this clause. Concurrently, the Republicans in the House who decided to skip this clause for fear of offending anyone are also ignorant of the same facts. It’s a very sad day for those of us out here who are familiar with the Constitution, the Federalist Papers, and all the other Founding documents.
You see, the “3/5th’s Clause” was written as a really ingenious way for the Founders to begin the end of slavery in America. Here is why the clause was written:
Today on Glenn’s show, he discussed the general deficit of trust we have in America, specifically when it deals with the media. For you libs out there, I’m putting this out front right now – Beck implores us all to NOT trust him, but go out and do research for ourselves on everything we see, read or hear. I’ve followed that and done all my own research.
Having said all that, Glenn is right about this issue. Where is the media now that gas is $3/gallon, yet when Bush was president, folks like Sens. Schumer and Clinton held press conferences and complained demanding answers for the price of gasoline, and Harry Reid even said the price of gasoline was more important than the housing market crisis. Seriously? And if memory serves me correctly, wasn’t it Schumer who held a press conference at a gas station between the pumps so the cameras could get the pump prices?
The media is not doing its job, and it’s probably not a coincidence. To top all that off, who, besides Glenn, is reporting on the rise of the progressive movement in this country, and the trouble the labor movement is causing for our country as a whole? No matter how much audio and video Glenn shows us on his radio and TV show, it seems like nobody in the media really gives a damn.
Hi… please forgive the appearance of my site. I have a tag somewhere in the code that is wreaking havoc, and until I can find it, my site is all caddywampus on me. Please bear with me as I work to correct it.
Listen…I’m no fan of Obama, and like Mark Levin, I’d vote for a can of orange juice before I’d vote for Obama in 2012. Somewhere along the way, just because our president is black, videos like this are becoming more mainstream and more acceptable on YouTube and other sites, and it should not be.
This is tastleless to the n’th degree, but if it’s okay for black people to do this, how is anything ANY of the Republican candidates do remotely deemed racist at all?
If this country ever truly wants to progress and become a more civilized nation, why is trash like this even tolerated? I’m not asking for this garbage to be censored, but I’d love to see at least SOME condemnation of things like this to be more prevalent. Can we please all agree this is unacceptable in a civilized world? You cannot condemn one group of people for being allegedly “racist” while simultaneously approving of another group of people for creating videos such as this, villifying a single race of people in the process of glorifying the creators of these videos? One need only search certain terms on YouTube to find thousands of videos like this one. And they’re all equally disgusting.
What say you, Eugene Robinson, Goldie Taylor, Donna Brazile, Marc Lamont Hill, etc., etc.? I’m waiting for you all to openly condemn videos like this on YouTube. If you don’t, then I have no reason to listen to your small and petty complaints of racism from Fox News, Republicans as a whole, and GOP candidates in the 2012 primary. Your silence about videos like this are tacit approval of them.
As is said in many places, “hilarity ensues” (h/t Mediaite):
Frances Martel does a fabulous write-up about it, and I couldn’t have said it any better, so here it is direct from the Mediaite post:
“Are you offended?” O’Reilly asked Harpootlian, who replied that he was not, but that he found the fact that Republicans had “no outreach to African Americans” a problem “in a state where we have an African-American Republican Congressman.” “Adding insult to injury, this debate ignoring Martin Luther King’s birthday!” he added, which made O’Reilly ask who was ignoring the debate and why. The Republicans, Harpootlian replied, because “no one has raised any issue with Fox about it being appropriate or inappropriate.”
O’Reilly then asked whether there was a reason for this– namely, something that happened in 2008. Harpootlian did not remember what happened in 2008 (a Democratic primary debate on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day) and who sponsored it (the Congressional Black Caucus), which prompted several awkward seconds where Harpootlian was obviously caught flat-footed. With this development, O’Reilly then told him that, “by injecting race into this, you do a disservice.” Harpootlian finally replied, blaming Republicans for injecting race into the matter by calling this “the most important election since 1860.” “We in the South have a little different version of that election,” he noted, suggesting that talking to Southerners in such a way was a sort of dog whistle. O’Reilly disagreed and just asked Harpootlian to give it up, adding, “you’re getting killed here!”
Today on Neil Cavuto, radio talk show host and constitutional scholar, Mark Levin was on to discuss his new book, “Ameritopia.”
Levin’s previous book, “Liberty and Tyranny” was a best-seller, as was another book before that titled, “Men in Black.” “Liberty and Tyranny” is a must-read for anybody who wants to know how we got to the point where we are in America today.
I’ve been stewing on this and stewing on this figuring out the right way to convey how I feel about it, and I’ve been struggling with just the right words to describe my sentiment. I read a fabulous screed by Deebow over at BlackFive, but it wasn’t until I saw the headline in a Weekly Standard piece today that quoted Lt. Col. Allen West (R-FL) on this matter. I couldn’t have said it better myself:
‘Shut Your Mouth, War Is Hell’
Yes, you got that right. Congressman West has weighed in on this flap over the Marines taking a piss on dead Taliban terrorists, sending an email to the Weekly Standard, who got his permission to print what he said. Here’s a portion of his commentary:
“All these over-emotional pundits and armchair quarterbacks need to chill. Does anyone remember the two Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division who were beheaded and gutted in Iraq?
“The Marines were wrong. Give them a maximum punishment under field grade level Article 15 (non-judicial punishment), place a General Officer level letter of reprimand in their personnel file, and have them in full dress uniform stand before their Battalion, each personally apologize to God, Country, and Corps videotaped and conclude by singing the full US Marine Corps Hymn without a teleprompter.
“As for everyone else, unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.”
I’m not even quite sure that what the Marines did was wrong, but since when in the hell did we become so indignant and self-righteously outraged about treating killers like they deserve to be treated? Sure, they probably shouldn’t have videotaped what they did, but who the hell cares? And don’t give me this “don’t stoop to their level” B.S. either. Until you have been in the shoes of our warriors, or our first responders (cops, firefighters, etc.), or, heck, even ever been a crime victim yourself, you have no idea what you would do, given the same circumstances.
