Shep Smith on ‘Rise of Freedom’ Towers at the WTC Sites & Ground Zero (VIDEO)

Last night, Shepard Smith started a series called the “Rise of Freedom,” set to chronicle the building and construction of the new towers, the Memorial, and surrounding sites.

If everything gets built like was shown tonight, it will be a beautiful site (and a stab in the eye of all the Islamofascists in the world). I’m just sad that it’s taken so long to rebuild there. However, knowing that this first site is already seven stories down, it gives me some relief with the pace. I hadn’t realized so much work was being done underground. And apparently the new structures appear they’ll be super-duper strength and reinforced to the hilt. I hope all of these structures are able to be completed by the 10-anniversary, as discussed in this segment. It would be a phenomal accomplishment, considering the current pace.

God bless all these construction workers and everyone involved in this labor of love.

Manson Murders Admired by Weather Underground Leader Bernadine Dohrn & Her Weathermen (VIDEO)

This is just a short tidbit from a recent Fox News Special, hosted by Greta Van Susteren, on the Manson Family murders. Maybe I just wasn’t paying attention before, but I never knew “The Family” was admired by the Weather Underground. Hmm…

I wonder if they had any other fans in Chicago, besides leader of the Weather Underground, Bernadine Dohrn, saying her Weathermen “dig Charles Manson” for “offing those rich pigs with their own forks and knives.” Weatherman Mark Rudd went so far as to say the group adopted a 4-fingered “fork” salute, I suppose as a way to honor the monstrous murderers. Gee, who else do we know from Chicago that has a deep-seated hatred for “rich” people? I wonder….

Fox News Watch on the Glenn Beck 8.28 Rally & the Liberal Media Bias That Followed (VIDEO)

This past weekend, the Fox News Watch gang took a look at the liberal media outlets’ takes on the “Restoring Honor” rally hosted by Glenn Beck at the Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 2010.

As usual, MSNBC’s Chris “thrill up my leg” Matthews said it was just a group of white people “united to bring down the President.” WTF? Does MSNBC ever do any drug testing? It might help if they did.

Bill Sammon hits the nail on the head, though, noting the press was ready for a fight, for punches to be thrown, to see racist signs and all that. Yet they were crestfallen when none of that happened. It was too late, however. They already had their narratives written with their pre-conceived ideas as to what it would be. Sammon continued to note that they expected anger and ugliness, and in the end, the only one that exibited that was the press, itself. It was nothing like the press expected it to be. I know. I was there. Sammon also makes a prescient observation that the Beck crowd was “nearly all-white,” but notes they never mentioned the Sharpton rally was “nearly all-black.”

I just have one thing to say about Ellis Hennican – he is a loon.

Michele Bachmann Speaks at the “Tribute to Ronald Reagan” Dinner at the AFP Summit (VIDEO)

My apologies for the sometimes-shakiness of the video, but I kept having folks move in front of my camera, so just bear with me. Michele Bachmann was just one of the fine speakers for this dinner. George Will gave the Keynote Address, and blew the doors off the room. I honestly never knew George was such a staunch conservative. It really makes me wonder what goes through his mind now, as he has to contend with Christiane Amanpour as the new ABC News’ “This Week” on Sundays.

Anyway, Michele’s speech was not lacking either. She got dozens of rousing rounds of applause, and was quite the crowd-pleaser. Looking very elegant in a turquoise dress and an upswept hairdo, this intelligent lady seems to have it right when she talks about what this country needs in a good solid conservative leader. I think there are stellar things in her future, and, in turn, in the future of our country. She’s not going anywhere. I can’t wait to see where she goes from here.

Herman Cain Treats Bloggers at the AFP Summit to a Sit-Down Interview (VIDEO)

One of the guest speakers for the mid-day Opening Session luncheon, Herman Cain, popped in to the AFP Bloggers’ Row, and to our tremendous surprise, he was willing to give us all a sit-down interview. The whole group got to ask him questions, one at a time, about what his political plans are for the future, and solutions he would propose to fix the problems in our nation today.

For those of you who don’t know Herman, he’s a much-beloved Atlanta talk show host on WSB Radio. He’s also a staunch proponent of the Fair Tax. Herman Cain has quite an impressive bio, and here is just a portion of it from his website:

In 1986, Pillsbury appointed Cain to the presidency of the then financially troubled Godfather’s Pizza, Inc. chain headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. In 14 short months, under Cain’s leadership, the chain regained profitability. In 1988, he led his executive team in a buyout of the company from Pillsbury.

Cain was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Restaurant Association in 1988. In 1994 to 1995, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors. While leading this association, he developed the organization into a pro-business voice via national debates and speeches concerning health care reform, employment policies, and taxation. Following this experience, he was appointed to serve on the Economic Growth and Tax Reform Commission in addition to serving as Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He then became a senior advisor to the 1996 Dole/Kemp campaign for the Presidency.
