The Dems Continue Pimping ‘Victims’ to Push Healthcare Reform (VIDEO)
Well, somebody’s gotta pick up ACORN’s slack, dont’ they?
Yesterday on Beck, Glenn revealed even more lies the president and top Dems are churning out about alleged “victims” of our “broken” healthcare system. They keep trotting out these people at press events and other occasions to use and abuse these people to get this healthcare reform bill shoved down our throats. The latest is cancer patient, Natoma Canfield of Ohio. From the Fox News story:
Natoma Canfield, the cancer-stricken woman who has become a centerpiece of President Obama’s push for health care reform, will not lose her home over her medical bills and will probably qualify for financial aid, a top official at the Cleveland medical center treating her told FoxNews.com.
Though Canfield’s sister Connie Anderson said her sibling is afraid she’ll lose her house and Obama warned at an Ohio rally Monday that the patient is “racked with worry” about the cost of tests and treatment, she is already being screened for financial help.
Lyman Sornberger, executive director of patient financial services at the Cleveland Clinic, said “all indications” at the outset are that she will be considered for assistance.
“She may be eligible for state Medicaid … and/or she will be eligible for charity (care) of some form or type. … In my personal opinion, she will be eligible for something,” he said, adding that Canfield should not be worried about losing her home.
“Cleveland Clinic will not put a lien on her home,” he said.
Now, Natoma is just the latest example, and probably the patient du jour for the Dems, but certainly not the last. Shamelessly, Senate Dems Reid, Schumer and others used an 11-year-old ‘human shield,’ Marcelas Owens at a recent presser, in an attempt to stifle debate about healthcare reform. If some cad DARE to take the Dems to task over this, why, they’ll just look like heartless heathens, right? Truth is it is the Dems who are shameless on this one.
Well, sucks to be them, doesn’t it? As it has been said, facts are stubborn things. Blogging goddess, Michelle Malkin along with others, are revealing the truth about what was really behind the “Marcelas Goes to Washington” escapade. From one of her exposes:
One of President Obama’s youngest lobbyists – 11-year-old Marcelas Owens of Washington state – traveled to D.C. on Tuesday on the dime of astroturf group, HCAN (Health Care for America Now). His 27-year-old mother, Tiffany, died of pulmonary hypertension. According to the family, Ms. Owens – a single mother of three — lost her job as a fast-food manager and lost her insurance. She received emergency care and treatment throughout her illness, but died in 2007.
Young Marcelas – goaded by his left-wing activist grandmother and promoted by Democrat Sen. Patty Murray — is now a regular on the pro-Obamacare circuit and is leading a congressional sit-in until the Democrat plan passes. He admits he doesn’t understand the complexities of health insurance reform and doesn’t “think it’s anyone’s fault” that his mom passed away. “But they could have done more” for her, he says.
It’s a heart-wrenching story, but the tale raises more questions than it answers. Washington state offers a plethora of existing government assistance programs to laid-off and unemployed workers like Marcelas’s mom. Why didn’t she enroll? Second, she died nine months after she reportedly lost her health insurance. By the time she lost her coverage through her employer, she was apparently already in dire health straits. It’s not clear that additional doctors’ visits in the subsequent months would have prevented her death.
The funny thing about all of this is the politicians on the Hill, rightly so, think we’ll buy into this garbage. We have, after all, been asleep for a long time, have we not? For the most part, we’ve always thought ‘America will always be the same country, nobody can really break us as a nation, right?’ You see, the thing they’re missing, and it will be their undoing, is that the sleeping giant has awakened – and not only do we KNOW what is going on now, but this time we CARE and we are NOT going to go back to sleep.
It is ‘We the People’ who will stand up to these tyrants and stop this madness. It’s time to return the power to its rightful owners – the American citizens.

What do you think of the recent “victimhood” being used by the Dems?
Matthew 25:34-45
“Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
“Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
“The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
“Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'
“They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
“He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
The health care bill received the required 60 votes in the Senate to overcome Republican opposition. Democracy isn't tyranny just because you are the minority. Simply put, win some elections and none of this is happening.
Bush's big government sure looked good to you for 8 years.
also, Nameless Cynic nails it. Today's Republican Christians only seem to embrace the part of the Bible that excuses their bigotry and hatred towards other law abiding Americans, like somehow being Pro-life (until birth) excuses the hatred and discrimination you preach. If you truly believe, a harsh judgment awaits.
