Sincerely, We The People (VIDEO)

A good friend passed along this video to me today, and it couldn’t have come on a better day. Enjoy!

This video perfectly embodies the sentiment of those who oppose big government and unsustainable spending.

This is a country that runs on the consent of the governed – and I DO NOT consent to my earnings being confiscated to be redistributed to others. And I REFUSE to have my property confiscated through taxes, if those taxes are not used to represent ME! That is, to be precise, taxation without representation, and the genesis of the first Tea Party. Well, the Tea Party is back, and it’s for the same reason; to remind you, the politicians, that you represent WE THE PEOPLE! And we demand you work on our behalf! If you refuse, you will be voted out. COUNT on it!

OK Sen. Tom Coburn Fires Warning Shot Across the Bow to Dems (VIDEO)

I am SO proud of one of my home state’s Republican Senators, Tom Coburn. Not only is he a fine Senator, but he’s also a physician. Today he fired a warning shot across the bow to Dems, saying that if they think they can vote yes on the “deem to pass” rule but think they can get away with saying they didn’t vote for the healthcare reform bill, it’s gonna be rough…in fact, it’s going to be “hell.”

Oh, and if you’re thinking about committing suicide with a ‘yes’ vote for this in hopes of getting a federal position or a deal for your office or district? Think again. Your names will be long etched in memory of every right-thinking person, and Sens. Coburn and company will make sure you are dogged until the end of time.

And if I know my Okies right, and I do, you can take that to the bank! Vote to pass and you will PAY!

The Dems Continue Pimping ‘Victims’ to Push Healthcare Reform (VIDEO)

Well, somebody’s gotta pick up ACORN’s slack, dont’ they?

Yesterday on Beck, Glenn revealed even more lies the president and top Dems are churning out about alleged “victims” of our “broken” healthcare system. They keep trotting out these people at press events and other occasions to use and abuse these people to get this healthcare reform bill shoved down our throats. The latest is cancer patient, Natoma Canfield of Ohio. From the Fox News story:

Natoma Canfield, the cancer-stricken woman who has become a centerpiece of President Obama’s push for health care reform, will not lose her home over her medical bills and will probably qualify for financial aid, a top official at the Cleveland medical center treating her told FoxNews.com.

Though Canfield’s sister Connie Anderson said her sibling is afraid she’ll lose her house and Obama warned at an Ohio rally Monday that the patient is “racked with worry” about the cost of tests and treatment, she is already being screened for financial help.

Lyman Sornberger, executive director of patient financial services at the Cleveland Clinic, said “all indications” at the outset are that she will be considered for assistance.

“She may be eligible for state Medicaid … and/or she will be eligible for charity (care) of some form or type. … In my personal opinion, she will be eligible for something,” he said, adding that Canfield should not be worried about losing her home.

“Cleveland Clinic will not put a lien on her home,” he said.

Jon Stewart Discovers Chatroulette (VIDEO)

March 5, 2010 Humor, Video No Comments

…and hilarity ensues.

I don’t agree with Stewart’s political views, but when he’s funny, he’s really funny. Check out this latest video of his recent discovery of Chatroulette.

I didn’t know Brian Williams had that good a sense of humor! I needed this laugh today.

Homeland Security ‘Big Sis’ Announces ‘Einstein’ Cyber Security Shield (VIDEO)

From the ZDNet blog today:

At the RSA Conference in San Francisco, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano discusses three efforts underway to ensure the security of the nation’s cyberinfrastructure. This includes the development of National Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan, which will facilitate a coordinated response to cyberthreats from the federal government, local city and state governments, as well as the private sector.

According to the Wall Street Journal piece:

NSA’s role is a careful balance because of the political battles that ensued over the agency’s role in domestic surveillance in the George W. Bush administration. Declassifying details of the NSA’s role, in a program initially developed during the Bush administration and continued in the Obama administration, will likely ignite new debates over privacy.

The White House’s new cyber-security chief, Howard Schmidt, announced the move to declassify the program in a speech at the RSA conference in San Francisco–his first major public address since assuming the post in January. He said addressing potential privacy concerns was one of the ten initial steps he planned to take. “We’re really paying attention, and we get it,” he said.

Hmmm…an over-reaching government trying to control the auto industry, financial and insurance industries, healthcare, education, the environment, and damn near anyone else, what in the world could POSSIBLY go wrong?
