Steve Hayes: This Healthcare Reform Will Bankrupt the Country (VIDEO)

On a special edition of Special Report, the subject was today’s vote on the healthcare reform bill, a.k.a. “Obamacare.” Steve Hayes of the Weekly Standard gave a breakdown of past entitlement programs including Medicare and Social Security, what promises were made about them, and how they wound up affecting America in reality, fiscally speaking. Steve gives a somber yet believable analysis about this newest entitlement: it will bankrupt this country.

This is going to make the federal debt clock, as Steve says, go into double-time. This new entitlement is an outrage. As if we don’t have enough unfunded liabilities as it is?

Karl Rove & David Plouffe Go At it Over Obamacare, the Deficit & Budget (VIDEO)

This morning on This Week, Obama advisor David Plouffe was on, along with Karl Rove, to discuss today’s healthcare reform bill vote. Rove tries to get Plouffe to stick to the facts, and pounded him on what the numbers actually are on this bill, the economy, our deficit and budgets, as well.

Partial transcript courtesy of HotAir:

“We will see if they pass this bill,” Karl Rove, who was “the Architect” behind George W. Bush’s two successful Presidential elections, said. “I hope they don’t. I pray they don’t. It will be an economic disaster for the country if they do.” Rove said that the health care bill used “Bernie Madoff-style accounting” and was an “gigantic disaster.”

“Karl and the Republicans would be familiar with that,” Plouffe retorted. “Under their leadership, they took us from big budget surpluses… to a $1.3 trillion deficit,” he said.

Rove hit back: “Look, you have run up more deficit, before this bill, in the first 20 months and 11 days of your term in office then was done in the entire Bush years!”

“Don’t be lecturing us about what you’re doing with the profligate spending that started last year with the failed stimulus bill,” Rove said, “and continued with your budget increases.”

“You will bankrupt the country, if this bill passes!” Rove insisted.

Plouffe responded with another jab: “Karl and the Republicans have zero credibility – about as much credibility as the country of Greece does to talk about fiscal responsibility.”

Rove, brandishing a white board with health care cost figures, interrupted: “For God’s sake, will you stop throwing around epithets and deal with the facts for once, David!”

Last Minute Protests (VIDEO)

From Politico today:

Tea Party protesters disrupted Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s press stakeout at a House Office Building, yelling “you’re a disgrace to your office” and one protester yelled a gay epithet at Rep. Barney Frank again on Sunday, adding yet another layer of chaos to an already tense afternoon on Capitol Hill.

In a moment of apparently unscripted political theater, Pelosi and Democratic leaders marched arm in arm — with civil rights pioneer John Lewis — across the Capitol complex while protesters yelled at them and police held a barricade.

The Pelosi disruption came inside the Cannon office building, where Democrats where whipping the final votes for the historic health care overhaul. When Pelosi said “We’re doing this for the American people,” a protestor yelled “you’re doing this TO the American people!”

Oh, and somebody allegedly yelled “faggot” at Barney Frank. Big deal. There are much worse things happening in our country now, like the government takeover of 1/6th of our economy.

Shepard Smith: “I Guess It’s A Beautiful Day to Yell” (VIDEO)

Once again, Shepard Smith shows his utter disdain for the Tea Party movement. Today as Fox News was covering the healthcare reform vote and the protests outside, Shep remarks that the “leaders” on the right like Rush Limbaugh and others have been telling people to go out, make our feelings known, etc., so there we are all “yellin’.” He notes it’s a nice day, and as such, a “beautiful day to yell.”

What a schmuck.

Against Her Will – When “No” Means “Yes”

I found this wonderful blogger/cartoonist at DrawForTruth. This cartoon actually states in a picture what can only be described is how Americans feel today about the healthcare reform bill being crammed down our throats right now.

Against Her Will

They reportedly have the votes for tomorrow, but it still doesn’t make the bill right for America. God help us.
