Beck on the “Me” Generation, Political Correctness, and Our Future (VIDEO)

by MsUnderestimated — Categories: Glenn Beck, Liberal Indoctrination, Obama, Video10 Comments

I’ve purposefully captured the majority of this video from Beck’s show today because other liberal sites are already selectively pulling out the “generation of would-be killers” segment. I want you to see/hear Beck’s argument en toto so you know the context.

I agree with Beck that we’ve raised a generation of whiner cry-babies who think they have everything coming to them, without any question or merit. Should we choose to continue down this path, our future generations will be unable to provide for themselves or their children, much less their aging parents should that be an issue for them.

Exit question/request for Beck-haters: Can you please refute one piece of Glenn’s stance on this issue from today’s show? I, too, want a simpler explanation to a question that sadly I know all-to-clearly has no simple response. I was brought up in the age of consequences for my actions, and I never received awards nor accolades that I did not earn or deserve. That’s what’s wrong with this new generation growing up today; dare I say the “Obama voters” we know all too well.

I am in my own personal position because of decisions I made in my life, so why should the new generation of folks be expecting anything different? The time for blaming others is over. You have to take responsibility for your behaviors, while also accepting praise for your successes should that be the case. You succeed because of YOUR actions; not because of the actions of the community.

The sooner folks realize that we as individuals are solely responsible for our futures, the better off we will be as a nation. Otherwise, Americans will constantly look to the Nanny State government to bottle-feed them, send them to school, and wipe their asses.

Gen-Xers crying because they can’t get the salary they think they deserve on an entry-level job. Cry me a freakin river and get in line with the rest of the competitive market of job-seekers. Nobody owes you a job, and jobs don’t belong to you, so this crap about “our jobs are going overseas” is bull$hit. They’re not your jobs in the first place; they are jobs a company has to offer you in exchange for your talents.

Don’t have the talents for that job? Not a problem then. I’ll see you at McDonald’s next week….as I pick up my Big Mac combo meal – and you’ll like it or you’ll go on the public dole and join the other parasites. You’re not owed anything, and you won’t get any sympathy from me.

And yes, I would like fries with that.

Bush and the Republicans oversaw the first 10 year overall NET LOSS OF JOBS in 80 years. While Gen X isn't owed anything, they certainly haven't got the same opportunities that every other generation in our country was given.

Ok, so let me update the list – Republicans hate unions, illegal immigrants, gays, democrats, the poor, moderates of any type, minorities (8% approval rating among latinos!), and now an entire generation of American voters based on their age group.

keep it up. the big tent has become a small white sheet.

The Democrats, the party of the KKK, respond by calling others white sheets. In serious need of a history lesson … Democrats were the original white sheets, their KKK terror wing terrorized blacks and whites for near 100 years. Democrats, the party of lynching, blacks to keep them down on the farm, and white political opponents. The Democrats wrote the Jim Crow laws, Segregation laws, raised all those confederate flags on the southern State Houses — and Sen Byrd filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

      History is your friend.

ACORN is the Democrats new sanitized fill in for their original KKK terror group, now that the original has gone out of style.

Oh yeah, NAZI party, that's a contraction for the National Socialists party, get it 'Socialists', left wingers one and all.

Your history is incorrect sir, Nazis were facists despite what they called themselves to whitewash their true intentions, there was nothing socialist about their philisophy or ideology.

I will say one thing for sure: being a product of the sixties myself, I know firsthand the mindset that Obama et al have tapped into, and it is scary indeed. Same old Marxist philosophy: capture the youth and you capture a generation. If we don't get on top of this quickly, the value of life itself will rapidly deteriorate to a dollar amount. And, the old, sick and infirm will be the first to go. We already have abortion on demand from nearly 40 years ago and several states have made assisted suicide legal. The slope just keeps getting slipperier and slipperier! And, as we continue to water down the definition of traditional marriage and worship the creation in the name of global climate change, we may well be witnessing the beginning of the end. However, on a brighter note, there is a sense that the “sleeping giant” is waking up. Just hope and pray it is not too late!

Do not confuse the terms Democrat and Republican with Conservative and Liberal.

You are correct, in the past Democrats = Conservative = KKK.

Now, Democrats = Liberals = Minorities = Not the KKK.

Republicans have no room for minorities.

Acorn helps minorities get into voting booths. You will notice that in their war against Acorn, no Republicans have provided an alternative to making sure the poor and minorities are assisted in getting registered to vote.

You may know your history but you could not be more out of touch with the present.

Republicans have not had an African-American elected to the Senate since 1978.

Exclusivism is the problem. The sooner you realize that all things are interrelated in the web of life you will be able to understand that your actions do have an impact on others. Previous generations have consistently been pushing off the consequences of their actions onto the next without any regard for what's going to happen when they are no longer in the picture. Climate change, peak oil and the massive deficit are just a few examples. Because of the recent economic collapse, the current generation feels duped, like the burden is going to be on our shoulders to fix everything. All our guidance councilors and teachers, even the governmet advised us become indebted for our educations and now I know people with MAs and PhDs mowing lawns and serving drinks. Its not that we want huge paychecks so that we can buy fancy things, we would like to pay off our loans so that we can start building capital. When you have capital you can invest in your society, you can be innovative and move this country forward. It is a very dangerous situation when so many people feel hoplessly in debt because they don't feel like they have a stake in their society. I don't see how wanting to be involved in the life of their nation makes young people today selfish, if anything, we are outraged because we are being denied the opportunity to have a stake in our society.
