Summoning My Courage

Well, I went and did it today. I’ve finally summoned the courage, yet I’m ashamed I have to consider this an act of “courage.” It really is a sad commentary of where our country is right now, and it is fundamentally so contrary to our Founding documents. I’m not the only one who’s been hesitant to do this, either. Everyone I work with, as well as friends and family, have all felt this way or still do. I finally put my my fear aside and did it. I’m the first in my group of family and friends. I’m hoping that what I did will encourage others to do so, as well. The fact that so many of us feel this way is just so wrong…so fundamentally wrong. So what is it that I did that was so “courageous?”

I put an anti-Obama bumper sticker on my car.

For so long and for very sad reasons, I’ve been reluctant to do so for fear of either getting my car keyed or damaged, or worse yet – being called a “racist.”

Today I have decided I can no longer carry that fear. I love my country too damn much. I can get a new car, but I cannot get my country back if I don’t take a stand. Yes, I know displaying a bumper sticker is hardly “taking a stand,” but if you look at it in context, that a lot of Americans are afraid to do so for reasons I cited, then I AM taking a stand. I’m saying that I value my right to free speech, I value the Constitution, I value my right to dissent, and I value what the Founding Fathers fought so hard for – not to mention our brave and valiant military men and women who are currently fighting for that very right. So why shouldn’t I display my bumper sticker? If it’s how I feel then that is my right.

Beck & Napolitano on the White House Snitch Program (VIDEO)

Last week, Beck had Judge Andrew Napolitano on his show to discuss the legality and legal precedence behind Linda Douglass’ “snitch” program, encouraging Obama supporters to forward “fishy” emails about Obama’s healthcare program to flag@WhiteHouse.gov.

What did I do as a conservative? I sent them a copy of HR 3200 to their address. If it’s disinformation they want, then it’s disinformation they’ll get – like that which is contained within HR 3200 (maybe they’ll read it if they get plenty of copies of it?).

Beck on Dr. Ezekiel Emanual on “The Complete Lives System” (VIDEO)

Last week, Glenn Beck brought out the position of one of Obama’s health care advisors, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel (Rahm’s brother) on ‘end of life’ care. This goes in all kinds of crazy directions like eugenics, euthanasia, AARP, ACORN and “The Complete Lives System.”

Folks, this is just plain frightening. If Beck is wrong, he can be sued for libel and/or slander. What does he have to gain from talking about these things? He doesn’t – except for the fact that he cares about Americans. As do I.

Soylent Green anyone?

Greta Highlights Rush’s Response to the “Angry Mobs” Charge (VIDEO)

Last week on Greta, she played some of Rush’s radio show video where he lambasts the White House and the DNC on their offensive tactics against grass-roots efforts trying to get their concerns heard at townhall meetings. Also at question is Linda Douglass of the White House, spearheading a ‘snitch’ campaign to get Obama followers to report any “fishy” emails with “disinformation” about the Healthcare bill by forwarding those emails to flag@WhiteHouse.gov.

How Orwellian does this sound to you? Where is the liberal hue and cry about THIS regarding regular folks’ privacy like it was during the discussion of the Patriot Act? Why, there is none, that’s obvious. It’s perfectly ok to collect data for your “dear leader” if he’s of your party, so this email harvesting crap is just fine for the left. What a bunch of shyster, hypocritical idiots. Payback is coming, and it will begin happening as soon as 2010. Don’t doubt it.

Maddow on Angry Mobs and Americans For Prosperity (VIDEO)

Last week, Rachel Maddow had a segment on the “angry mobs” and the conservative ‘fringe’ groups that were allegedly behind the protests, which she called ‘swifties.’ She bashed Recess Rally, Michelle Malkin, SGP, Red State, American Majority, Sam Adams Alliance, Patients First and many others.

But hey, what else do you expect from a show on MSNBC?
