CNN’s Dan Lothian On Sgt. Crowley’s Speech – Coached? (VIDEO)

Lou Dobbs & Dan Lothian spoke after the Crowley speech, and Dobbs praised Sgt. Crowley, saying whatever was accomplished today, Sgt. Crowley proved himself to be a “first-class professional police sergeant.” And what was Lothian’s response?

That Crowley was either well rehearsed from spending time in front of the cameras at the Cambridge “crime scene,” or he had been coached prior to the presser.

Come on, Lothian. Are you really saying Sgt. Crowley isn’t educated? Your only two suppositions are either camera face-time experience or being coached? Can’t you just agree the man is well educated? After all, if you read his police report, you would KNOW this man is HIGHLY educated. It’s one of the most well-written police reports I’ve ever read.

Can’t even stand to give the guy one compliment. Wow. Shallow fellow you are.

    Did he need a teleprompter?

Most police officers today, have a college degree or a decent amount of college credit. Getting promoted to sergeant in fairly large police departments is an accomplishment. One must take a competitive exam, have a clean file, and probably pass an oral interview before some sort of promotion board (gee, those public speaking skills didn't just “happen” with the sergeant).

Since he's an academy instructor, he's probably been to either a 5 or 10 day instructor development course where he was extensively trained in public speaking, preparing course outlines, and more.

What the moron from CNN needs to realize, is that this is the case for most police officers across the country. And so what if he was coached? That tells me that the sergeant prepared himself for what to expect & what to say. Sounds like he was one step ahead of our president who went into a press conference unprepared & shot his mouth off…again.

    what a condescending myopic assessment.

talk about your frackin' racial stereotyping…. cannot believe that a white police officer from Boston area can be well spoken in front of news camera and take on press in articulate manner?

Imagine the cry of “racism” and the like if instead it was a latina woman officer or black officer, and the “objective” media expressed such surprise and shock that they were so well spoken and able to clearly and calmly address that crowd.

And damn straight, anyone in the media “rehearses and preps” before speaking, OR uses a teleprompter, OR says something “stupidily”…

inverse stereotyping and racism, expressing shock that the white Boston Irish police sergeant cannot A] NOT be racially biased and
B] not be capable of public speaking and articulate expression of opinion or fact.
