Beck’s ‘One Thing’ on Cap & Trade (VIDEO)

Today Beck’s ‘One Thing’ focused on the obvious – our media’s obsession and distraction by the 24/7 Michael Jackson coverage, so much so that we missed the really important things that happened. For instance, the Cap & Trade bill that was passed by the House on Friday, 219-212, during which John Boehner made WONDERFUL political hay of in his allotted time to speak. Did anyone pay attention? I think those of us who are more sentient on all things political were, but the rest of America was waiting on the next gossip about what Michael looked like, or what drugs he was injected, before he died.

But I digress.

Beck picked out some fabulous clips from Boehner’s floor time, and I have to say I am stunned by all the bureaucracy (especially the IRS!) that is going to fall under the EPA’s purview under this Crap & Fraud bill (that’s what I call it), because this part of his 1-hour floor speech I missed. I did get the Boehner/Waxman smackdown, but this part I missed.

Folks, if you aren’t plugged in, we’re all doomed to succumb to this gargantuan, out-of-control monstrosity that can only be visually compared to the beast I saw in “Cloverfield.” It’s massive, hell-bent on having its way, and flattens everything in its past. And it came in with a small, tiny splash.

This time, the splash has turned into a giant tidal wave, and I only pray that we quit focusing on the tawdry Michael Jackson affair long enough to realize what’s happening under the cover of mainstream media darkness.
