Folks, I did something today that I thought I never would. I was outraged when I saw this symbol during the pro-illegal immigration rallies and at other such venues. However, due to the sweeping fundamental changes in this country that are being mhttp://msunderestimated.com/ade at break-neck speed and with seemingly reckless abandon, I can no longer stay silent. I am truly afraid for my country. In fact, I dare say, the United States of America is in distress today based on the actions of this current administration, so this is the sticker that adorns the rear window in my SUV:

I first saw it on a truck heading northbound on I-575 recently on the way home from work. I saw the above sticker on the truck’s tailgate and my initial thought was “how could he!?!?!” But as I reflected on my own feelings and what that symbolism means, I thought “by God, he’s right – we ARE in distress!” So I ordered some American flag stickers, and I put one on the back window of my SUV today. I have a friend who is a cop in Jersey City, and he was here recently visiting. I told him about seeing that sticker on the truck, and he said that he’s seen a few vehicles back in Jersey with the exact same display of the flag stickers.
This is better than any “Don’t Blame Me, I Voted For XYZ” bumper stickers, because this symbol demonstrates exactly the sentiment behind it and it requires no words. Besides, I’m afraid if I display any anti-Obama bumper stickers, I might be stopped by the cops, or worse yet, have my car keyed.
I am asking my friends and those of you who think the way I do to make that feeling known; that our country IS in distress, and solidarity is called for in these times. In this case I think this symbol is even more powerful than the traditional “Don’t Tread On Me” message; the upside-down flag really tells the larger story – a story that today is worth communicating.
It’s also a way to find like-minded folks in traffic so you can keep your sanity in the sea of “Obama/Biden ’08″ bumper stickers; especially since they dominate here on the Atlanta metro roadways. Keeps me from going into that “Mad Max” frame of mind, if you know what I mean.
