Today on Glenn Beck’s show, he had former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell on to talk about what happened to him last week. You see it seems some dumb-ass punks were driving the Texas countryside, summarily executing dogs.

What’s that saying about a “special place….?”

Marcus was at home, it was late at night and he was awake. He heard a gunshot outside, told his mom to stay inside, and when he went outside he saw a group of punks standing around his yellow lab named “Dasy,” lying dead in the ditch. These punks had shot Dasy with a .357 and killed her. Dasy was very special to Marcus, because she served not only as his therapy dog, but her very name was an acronym for the members of his SEAL team who fought and died in Afghanistan – Danny, Axe, Southern Boy (Marcus) and Yankee.

Marcus chased these punks over four counties, and he nearly shot the driver. Finally the Rangers caught up with these punks in Huntsville, TX and the idiots in handcuffs were laughing about it. They said they would also kill Marcus. Do these douchebags not know about Marcus?

Dickhead Alfonso Hernandez was charged with Cruelty to Animals and is facing up to two years in prison, and dickhead #2, Michael Edmonds, is currently on the run.

I am 14 and I read Mr Lutrell's book. and he is my hero it rips my heart out that this man gave his life and had to go through the loss of his best friends only to come home to America and be treated as badly as he was by the Taliban.

THANK U FOR YOUR SERVICE. i really look up to you in so many ways! im deeply sorry for the loss of your team in 05 and for dasy!!! it brings tears to my eyes…and i like to think i never cry. i live in the woodlands tx and would damn near cut my arm off to meet a man of this magnitude!! i read the book as soon as it hit the shelf. MARCUS LUTTRELL IS MY HERO!! i believe a dump truck is in need to haul his jewels around for him!! marcus…. im sorry. god be with u and yours!! I feel terrible about this, but the truth of the matter there are assholes like this all over the US. In some ways many people in the US are worse than the Taliban or others who we dare not mention. I truely feel bad that people like this has to act the way they do and take something special away from those who served this country. I to have had similiar incidents and I to have served 23 years for this country only to realize what I know now. I am sorry for your loss.

These monsters just make me sick. A two year sentence is way too short for what they did. I don't know how many dogs they shot, but they should be put away for a long time. As for Marcus and poor little Dasy, my heart is just broken. What a very sad story. I hope they catch the one on the run and they get a lot more than two years. These are very sick and disturbed young men.

This is what really gets to me, these men go and fight for our country to only have our own turn around and disrespect them like this. These punks need to be dealt with and not 2 years in prison. This makes me sick to think there are people in this country with no more respect for Marcus and our other fallen heros. Our military fights for this punks freedom only to be treated like what's the hell wrong with people.

I just want to tell Mr. Lutrell how horrified I was by Dasy's story. Tears come to my eyes when I think of it. My love and prayers go out to him, along with gratitude for his service.
I was just reading an ASPCA brochure about dogs and I thought of Dasy and wondered if he would ever be ready to invite another puppy into his heart. Dasy 2? All America would rejoice…. I lost my precious 4 cats 2 years ago (all died of old age during an awful 10 months)and am just beginning to feel as if I could welcome another cat into my home. Hope you read this, love Ellen

I understand thanks be to God that he lived to tell the tale, which serves as an inspiration on an even wider front than the one he is kicking ass in. Ultimately, I suppose it is the front that his friend's perished in order to uphold. America is the model for freedom and human decency. I would never expect these men to have to have to hold themselves to a higher standard, given what they are trained to do. They do it anyway. I'm late to this particular conversation, but nothing would educate and serve to correct these punks shortsightedness than, assuming they possess the ability to read, to each tackle a book report over “Lone Survivor.” FYI, I am no bleeding heart liberal. I am a conservative Republican. I support the use of gunpowder. No questions asked. God Bless Marcus and his friends and everyone serving in the armed forces… and their dogs.

Marcus, I thank you for your service and sacrifice and pray for your continued recovery. Dasy, I love you too for your healing life with Marcus and know you will nudge him towards his new angel when the time and animal is right. Michael Edmunds, do you realize yet that you need help if you think punks shooting ANY animals for fun is cool? Please get help NOW before you become even worse – its your lack of self-esteem and baseline immorality that allow you to do idiotic stunts like you did. I was heartbroken when I learned about this when it first happened. I cannot for the life of me understand why we don't have tougher animal cruelty laws. Nothing will ever change until we put these monsters away for a long time. They don't just kill animals, but they kill or injure people as well. We have only lived in Texas for 4 /12 years, but I have never lived anywhere before where so many people here hunt for “sport”. Texas is the biggest hunting state there is and so many people here have absolutely no regard for animals. I totally believe that hunters are “total and absolute COWARDS”.

Please distinguish from hunters vs sociopaths. A true “hunter” harvests the animal and uses it to the fullests extent; meat, hides, pelt etc. A man with a small penis hunts trophy animals for his study’s wall. There is a huge difference.

I just finished Lone Survivor yesterday, burned through it in 1 1/2 days — great book, to bad the events that inspired it happened the way they did. Then ! Then I see where those kids shoot Mr. Luttrell's dog! They are so lucky the cops showed up! Mr. Luttrell would have caught them, with a gun in the car and them not knowing who they were dealing with there could have been a gun-fight. They would all be dead and Mr. Luttrell would be in jail — but then he'd escape so I guess it wouldn't matter much.

Marcus–I cried while reading “LONE SURVIVOR” and feel deeply disgusted with the ass holes in our own country who would perform such a cruel act. I only pray that they did not know who you are and what you mean to this grateful Nation!!
