For whatever it's worth, when all the media in the world was here in Tallahassee after the 2000 Presidential election (remember that one...the election the liberals claim conservatives stole?) Shep Smith was arrested for aggravated battery with a motor vehicle on a female reporter when she dared to have stood where he was earlier. According to TPD the female reporter was standing on Monroe Street across from the Capitol, in a rare empty space in a parking lot crowded with television satellite trucks. She told police she was saving the space for co-workers. Smith drove up in a white Mazda Millenia and yelled at her to move. Smith shouted profanities at her and basically hit her with his car but fortunately didn't cause serious injuries other than bruises and scrapes. Did Smith help her after knocking her onto the hood of his car? Nope. He got out of his car, shut & locked the door and walked right past her. Really nice, guy right? He was arrested shortly afterward and was taken to the city jail and book on battery with a motor vehicle. The charges were lowered several months later to simple battery and eventually dropped after both parties agreed to a confidential monetary settlement (translation: Fox bought the reporter off). Apparently Smith felt he was priviledged and everyone should give him what he wants when he wants it. He's been a prima donna for a long, long time and remains so. Of course, whaddya expect from an Oxford Junior College...er, sorry...Ole Miss grad (this is coming from an MSU alum BTW). I've worked in the television industry here in Tallahassee for ten years and have met many people who either worked directly with Smith or with those who have and apparently Smith is a royal pain in the patoot to work with.
