The ‘Freedom Rock’ Artist on Huckabee (VIDEO)

Tonight’s Huckabee show was fantastic, and finally someone featured a segment on the artist of the Freedom Rock in Iowa, Ray “Bubba” Sorensen. The emails about his Freedom Rock artwork have been going around for years, and he’s been painting this rock since 1999.

From his site:

“The rock was a large boulder that marked the entrance to a rock quarry. It slowly became a place for local kids to graffiti different sayings and pictures.

In 1999, after seeing “Saving Private Ryan,” I was inspired to find a way to say thank you to those who’ve served our great country. I painted the rock with a rough painting of the flag raising at Iwo Jima and “Thank you Veterants for our freedom.”

Since then, every Memorial Day, I re-paint the rock with different patriotic images and sayings in support of our military men and women, past and present.

Say a prayer for the men and women currently serving our country, and if you see a veteran today say “Thank You” for their service.”

He was on tonight with his wife Maria, who does all the photography of his artwork. This guy is a legend, and everyone should view his artwork at some point in their lives. What a true American patriot.
