Mumbai, India Terror Attacks (VIDEO)

Today, multiple simultaneous coordinated attacks by terrorists hit Mumbai (formerly Bombay) India, targeting the financial center and luxury hotels. Targets were Britons and Americans, or others with western passports. As of this reporting, several Western hostages are believed to be held as hostages in the hotels Taj Mahal, Trident and the Oberoi. Up to 90 are believed to be dead at this point, and hundreds injured. At the latest reporting, a Mujahedeen terror group is claiming responsibility.

“India Times” reports over 80 dead, 900+ injured, with the head of Mumbai’s anti-terrorism killed. Official reports put the death toll at 78 with 200 injured. The BBC website has a map of the affected area and reports that “Commandos have surrounded two hotels, the Taj Mahal and the Oberoi, where gunmen are reported to be holding dozens of hostages, including foreigners.” “India Times” reports 7 foreigners are among 15 hostages at the Taj Mahal Hotel and that the Army has entered the Oberoi Hotel. India Times also reports that “An unknown outfit, Deccan Mujahideen, has sent an email to news organizations claiming that it carried out the Mumbai attacks.” Streaming live coverage video is available at the CNN IBN Live site. CNN IBN also reports 9 terrorists taken into custody across Mumbai, but no official confirmation yet.)
The Indian Army are engaging the militants with AK47s, etc. This video includes reports from New Delhi TV.
