Having To Suffer Fools (VIDEO)

Just scanning through TV today, I came across a C-SPAN Weekend segment featuring Col. Timothy Reese, U.S. Army, Director of the Combat Studies Institute. He and Donald P. Wright recently wrote a report/book called “On Point II,” and the good Col. was answering questions from callers.

As many of you know, they have Democrat, Republican and Independent phone numbers on which to call in to the show, but today it was quite obvious the moonbats were out in full force. As soon as I heard the word “Neo-Con” (along with evil Joooos, the Israel lobby, neo-con zionists, Gen. Shinseki, evil contractors shooting reporters, etc.) from someone calling in on the “Republican” line, I just knew it was going to be challenging for the Colonel to stay stoic; but he did his very best. I’m sure he found them as tedious as did I.

From the Armed Forces Journal Forum about the book:

…(it is) a history of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM covering the 18 months following the invasion of Iraq. The book is titled, “ON POINT II: Transition to a New Campaign, The U.S. Army in Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, May 2003 to January 2005.” ON POINT II will follow where the previous book, ON POINT, left off at the end of April 2003.

The book is a comprehensive and honest account of the Army’s operations in Iraq during this period. It is not a primarily book about national strategy, for our charter is to publish tactical and operational histories…

Do these knuckleheads think that military members and the Administration are one in the same? Caller after caller asked about foreign policy, and he kept trying to remind them that was not the focus of what his division did; he’s a historian, not a politician. The first and last callers had some legitimate questions, and Col. Reese was able to give some decent answers (even if the answers weren’t what the callers wanted to hear), but for all the other callers, I only left their questions in. Col. Reese tried to answer them as best he could, but they really weren’t worth his time.
