Bailing Out the Losers & Government Leeches

We have prime example #1 here in Georgia of why the government bailouts of mortgage behemoths Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as well as the individual losers who are facing foreclosure. Why the hell are we forking over taxpayer dollars to prop up government entities who could not control themselves, or pathetic social losers who not only buy/borrow above their means, but continue to want to suck at the government teat to bail their sorry asses out? I for one am sick of this entitlement shit. I work hard for my money, and I spend within my means. To hell with those of you who can’t or just refuse to do so.

Case in point: There’s a sorry-ass family here in the Atlanta area who was the once-in-a-lifetime beneficiary of the grandest of benevolent gifts anyone could receive; a mortgage-free home, plus $100,00 in cash by the builders. How did they get their new home? Why, they were “winners” on an episode of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”

You see, Milton and Patricia Harper (the new homeowners) didn’t have the sense enough to count their blessings, hire someone to help with their finances and get on with their lives. Nooooo! They had to take their free home, apply for a first mortgage loan for the value of $450,000 to try to start a new business, but alas… the business didn’t work out. So what do they do? Here’s the report from the local WSB-TV story:

Lake City mayor Willie Oswalt was among the 1,800 volunteers helping “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” build the Harper’s new home 3 ½ years ago. Beazer Homes of Atlanta was the main sponsor. The mayor said he is baffled.

“Beazer gave them $100,000 cash, paid their mortgage off and they still can’t make it,” said Oswalt.

Harper told Channel 2 they invested the loan proceeds in a construction business and the business hasn’t been good. She didn’t say how much of the money is left.

“What’s going to happen is instead of keep paying my mortgage, I’m going to take my money and not pay my mortgage because I’m being harassed,” said Harper.”

Do what? Harassed by who, you loser? You’re going to keep the money but not pay your mortgage? F**K you, and I don’t want MY tax dollars paying to bail your sorry asses out! One of the thousands of low-lifes who say “can’t pay? so what.. here’s the keys.” No wonder this country is in the mess that it is in. Not only did these douchebags look a gift-horse in the mouth, they shot him in the knee caps and put him to sleep.

Here’s another piece from The Real Estate Bloggers:

Talk about screwing up a good thing.

Extreme Makeover and Beezer Homes builds you a luxury home, gives you 100,000 dollars, paid off your mortgage, and you lose the home to foreclosure in 3 and a half years.

How the hell does that happen?

Well, it does when you do good things for people with no sense at all. To be honest these people disgust me. Hundreds donated their time and energy to get them out of a bad situation. The goodness of their neighbors was spit upon today and whatever consequences comes to this family they deserve.

Someone direct the Harpers to their local tattoo artist to get a big “L” stamped on their foreheads. Screw these scum-sucking leeches.

What originally happened in Lake City when that home was built is a prime example of how charity and goodwill should work — through the actions of private organizations and individuals. I'm sure many of the recipients are well deserving of the help. How they handle it afterwards is up to them. These particular individuals betrayed their neighbors' trust and goodwill.

As for Fannie & Freddie — they need to be reigned in and, in time, abolished. This is what happens when government plays in the arena of charity and goodwill. It becomes abused and leaves the taxpayer holding the bag. Other examples abound. Just look at the idiots that build on the coast and have their houses (usually a seond home) destroyed in a storm. They rebuild in the same location thanks to government largesse (flood insurance) which the taxpayer underwrites. Get the government out of the flood insurance business and let people stupid enough to build on the coast or in flood plains pay private insurance premiums that reflect the true cost of their idiocy. Maybe then, when someone has to pay sky high premiums, they'll start to make sensible choices and quite screwing taxpers.
