Dixie Chicks…Silent? (VIDEO)

Well, this is only one segment I caught on the Grammy’s, so Natalie may have already spoken her piece, but after they won the “Best Song of the Year” Award for their tongue-wagging “Not Ready to Make Nice” about their smack at President Bush, Natalie actually said she was speechless. I guess I was waiting for projectile vomiting to spew forth, but not in this segment.

The most interesting thing I noticed, and you will, too, is at about 18 seconds in. The camera pans the audience as they applaud wildly for the Chicks, I couldn’t help but notice the visible displeasure or, at least, a level of being underwhelmed by country artist Cowboy Troy. I can’t, for the life of me, remember the name of the white cowboy to his right, but neither of them look like they’re celebrating the Chicks’ win.

See if you can catch Cowboy Troy’s reaction here.

P.S. Who is the other country star? Please comment below.

I am so looking forward to the day when every election/poll/award show is no longer a referendum on George Bush. I'm sure the Chicks would have won without the nutroot vote…

That “white cowboy” sitting to Cowboy Troy's right is John Rich of country duo 'Big & Rich'. I believe Cowboy Troy played/toured with them and that John Rich may write/produce for Troy.

The reason for the cowpokes' dispeasure probably has more to do with the fact that the Dixie Chicks are a pop band, not country, than anything political.

John Rich from 'Big & Rich' is the other country artist.

The guy to his right was John Rich.

I couldn't watch the Dixie Chicks and the Grammys. It's such a sludge fest. In the end, the Chicks aren't ready to make nice with reality, and that's their problem.

The Chicks were vindicated from the likes of the rednecks of the good ol boy country network in Nashville. And by the way, they were right. Bush is an embarrassment.
