Time To Send a Well-Deserved Message….

When my friends, Kit and Heidi from Euphoric Reality, told me about this, I was stunned.

From ER’s site:

One of our soldiers emailed a retailer in West Allis, Wisconsin, inquiring whether they could ship floor mats to an APO address. The NCO wanted to buy better gear for his troops to sleep on. You won’t believe the company’s response*. (Their email address is included below, if you’d like to let the company know what you think of their business.):

I thought it had to be one of those hoaxes that we all get behind emotionally to either combat or support. However, this one is apparently no joke. And my response to them will also be “no joke.”

This has also been verified by Snopes. Not that they’re the be-all/end-all, but to me if it’s made it to Snopes, at least some verification has been done on the subject.

Folks, this is a call to arms, so to speak, on this matter. Boycott doesn’t even cut it. We need to make sure this business has NO business, no customers who want to buy from them anymore, and all the negative publicity they can get. Are you ready to get busy on this one? It’s already starting.

And our friend Texas Fred has done a little more digging. Although the site is currently down due to technical difficulties, here’s what Fred found out.

He may own a private company, but when you send out an email like he did, the email he sends is property of the recipient; i.e., the soldier. If the soldier wanted to alert bloggers, that was his right.

    And since Faisal has a business, all we had to do was go to his website to find out additional contact information. Not that hard for a smart person, but I guess a brainiac like you couldn't figure that out.

    Similar thing happened to me – tried to buy a small video camera system while deployed in Kosovo – vendor refused to send APO and got nasty – reported me to eBay because I refused to pay – I haven't been back since.
