Yes, that’s right – a Pakistani Muslim immigrant named Jamal Miftah was kicked out of his local mosque. His offense? He wrote a letter to the editor of the Tulsa World Newspaper speaking out after the last release of a taped message by Zawahiri. He wrote as an appeal to Zawahiri and his “band of thugs” to stop the violence and asked him to turn himself into authorities.
Of course the Islamic Society there in Tulsa say that he was thrown out because of a physical confrontation, but that he was welcome back. Listening to his story, it doesn’t sound like he’s welcome to go back to me! Nor does he look like someone who could start a physical confrontation. Even the Imam of the mosque got into the fray with Miftah, and Miftah was told not to ever write anything again against Muslims or Islam. It must not have been a pleasant; in fact, he felt very threatened.
