This is an excellent post.
This week begins the battle of the media heavyweights as O'Reilly is going to be taking on Oprah on this very subject. My guess is that she wont sit idly by as many of her viewers probably watch "The Factor."

"I can only pray they’re not watching this drivel, but watching the requisite soaps instead. "
My, aren't we condescending.

As to Iraq, I say either put enough troops in there to put down the insurgency or pull out.
The longer Bush says "Stay the course" the dumber he looks.

Oprah Winfrey learned long ago how to manipulate the public, her viewers and people in general. Her sincerity is usually faked to promote herself and her causes. Her tactics are of the typical liberal: state your opinion as fact and shut up any and all opposing viewpoints by any means necessary. She has a long history of doing so. Truth means nothing to her if it opposes her personal beliefs. Her allowing Frank Rich on her show is just the latest example. Sometimes she does get called on the carpet on her outrageous statements (anyone remember her over-the-top accusations against the beef industry resulting in lawsuits? Or the erroneous information she claimed was factual after Hurricane Katrina even though they had already been proven to be false - she never corrected herself nor admitted making any error - in fact she re-ran the same post-Katrina episodes with the false information later on) however being the master manipulator that she is, she turned it into an event to promote herself and made herself appear to be the victim to her loyal flock although she was the instigator of the whole sordid affair. She is a major megalomaniac who has to be the center of attention no matter what. It's sad that there are thousands, if not millions, of people in this country so blinded by celebrity that they accept whatever their celebrity gods and goddesses espouse without question and without research to see if it is true or not.

Mis-infotainment...

Philosophy pervades our daily lives, but don't worry, there will be no pop quiz on Socrates, Aquinas or Dr. Phil. It is education, experience and belief that combine to make a world view. How we live is indicative of who we are - and words mean thing....
