NYT’s Frank Rich Slams Bush Admin on Oprah – Part Deux (VIDEO)

I know, I previously wrote a post and included some video clips of that show, but that was during the week when I had very little time to edit video and post. So, I sat down at the PC again tonight and recorded the video clips of the entire show, compressed them appropriately and uploaded them to my server to post here (for the beginning of the show, which I didn’t get last time). Thanks to Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters for featuring my first post, but after having now watched the first part of the show which I missed earlier, I feel that all of this needs to be seen by my readers (as well as Newsbusters’ readers and everyone else).

An Audience Member Speaks Out For Bush

Folks, I was going to try to transcribe some of this, but I’m truly at a loss for words (save the expletive descriptors) watching Frank Rich hawk his book and drop his Bush-bashing cow-pies all over national TV. So, it’s up to you to watch these segments and have your own personal debates with both Frank and Oprah (and some of the audience members). I found myself yelling at the screen, and was going to cite references to dispute things that Rich said that I know to be lies here, but it’s quite frankly too time consuming and not worth my time. People like Frank Rich know the truth about why we went to war in Iraq, what Saddam’s connections were to Al Qaeda, the truth about WMDs, UN Resolution 1441, and everything else surrounding the current war. Educated people know the truth, but it’s obvious Mr. Rich preyed on a majority un-educated audience to spew his anti-Bush venom, and they bought it hook, line and, in this case, stinker (except for two or three outstanding folks in the audience).

A U.S. Soldier Stands & Speaks Up

The one major sticking point I can’t avoid arguing with is the validity of the war in Iraq. Here’s my argument: Back then, the Egyptian president, Mubarak, told Gen. Tommy Franks that Saddam’s troops were going to use chemical weapons against our troops; we knew Saddam used chemical weapons against hundreds of thousands of Iraqis in the past; the French Foreign Intelligence Service, along with those of almost every European country (and some Arab countries) in the world said that Saddam had WMDs and chemical weapons. Many other intelligence services said the same thing. So, okay, we just summarily dismiss this and say “nah, it’s not true; we have to focus on only getting UBL and the Taliban in Afghanistan, and to hell with everybody else.” Decisions such as this would have been easily made in a pre-9/11 world, but growing threats cannot be cast aside in the present world in which we live.

Remember, the conservatives were lambasted by the left for not being able to get Zarqawi, the beheader-in-chief in Iraq. However, once we did get him, it was “well, you still haven’t gotten Usama!” When is it good enough? If we get UBL, then what? “Well, why haven’t you gotten Zawahiri and/or Muqtada al Sadr?” What more does the left want? Total military failure under the current Republican administration? Strange but probably true, I honestly believe that this is what the left dreams about most. Never mind it will result in the deaths of many more Americans than have given their lives in combat in Iraq; it will still mean a victory for the appeasement wing of the democratic party. A sorry victory, but victory nonetheless.

Back to the proposition at hand: we only focus on Afghanistan and Taliban & Co. lead by UBL. Now realize that had we focused solely on Afghanistan, we would have been surrounded by Iran, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikstan, and on the outskirts of Iran are Iraq and Syria. With all the hype and intel we were getting, in addition to what Saddam was proclaiming he’d had, how stupid would it have been for us to go into Afghanistan only, leaving all the surrounding borders fragile to invasion by every Muslim country surrounding Afghanistan? Why would we want to hole our guys up in one country in the middle east, with all kinds of surrounding countries with various and sundry weapons systems to use at their disposal whiile we had blinders on for a “Taliban and UBL ONLY” focus? We would have had to seal the entire border of the Afghani country which would have been a largely impossible task, so it only made strategical sense to also invade Iraq.

Do you really want to argue with me on this? Please register and comment below. I’ve put a lot of thought into this one and I’m ready for battle. The leftards have no plans other than a “new direction” or by “fighting smarter.” Well what the hell kind of answer is that? See, that is just the point; the Democrats are transparent in their quest for power. There goals do not lie with protecting this nation with a vast national security plan. What they perpetually offer is the same divisive and impotent rhetoric and concessions to our enemies. They do not have a systematic plan for protecting America, and simply proclaim they will be “smarter” in going about engaging in the same activities that Bush is engaged in to protect this nation.

Regardless what some claim, we did not abandon Afghanistan; we’re still there. And no, we didn’t outsource our defense to the Afghan warlords. Do you have a better plan than “a new direction” you demotards? Sadly, idiots like this Frank Rich, who is a former movie critic (if memory serves me right) for the NYT, is able to influence the mindless masses on shows like Oprah. Hopefully these idiots will stay away from the polls because a hit-piece book on the administration does not a good defense make.

I’m seeing more and more of this stuff the closer we get to the elections, and it seems to be on the daytime shows (the View, Oprah, Montel, etc.), most likely in the hopes of motivating the uneducated housewives and stay-at-homes of this country. I can only pray they’re not watching this drivel, but watching the requisite soaps instead. The level of reality is still the same, only the consequences are far more severe whether you believe and listen to Frank Rich, or dearly hope that Susan Lucci can win the Daytime Emmy.

Watch the first part of the show in segments here, here, and here, and to see the final segments, check out my previous post here.
