FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Iranian activists demand the arrest of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for the violation of human rights in Iran

Homa Arjomand calls Press Conference at Queen’s Park, Toronto, on Monday September 18, 2:00 pm

Homa Arjomand, Coordinator of the International Campaign Against Sharia Court in Canada is calling a press conference where she and other Iranian activists will demand the arrest of President Ahmadinejad for crimes against humanity.

“We declare that President Ahmadinejad has violated Articles 9, 10, 11 and 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.”, said Homa Arjomand. “We therefore call on the United Nations to arrest President Ahmadinejad for violating human rights in Iran”.

The protestors claim President Ahmadinejad is responsible for the assassinations and executions of tens of Iranian activists both in Iran and abroad.

“It is a disgrace to the United Nations to permit this man, with his record on human rights, the privilege to speak at this assembly, especially when he has taken the same rights from people in Iran and in tens of cases he has also taken their lives”, added Homa Arjomand.

Iranian refugees and exiles living in Canada will gather at Queen’s Park in Toronto to demand that Canada extradite President Ahmadinejad and to have him stand trial in Canada for the death of Canadian photographer, Zahara Kazemi.

Friends and family of the following activists who have been killed by Iranian authorities in the past three months will speak at Queen’s Park:

· Vali Faiz Mahdavi
· Akbar Mohhammadi
· Hojat Zamani

Location: Queen’s Park, Toronto
Date: Monday, September 18, 2006, 2:00 pm

An open microphone will also be available for other Iranians attending the protest. They will be able to tell their personal stories and to expose the crimes and human rights abuses of this Iranian regime and the leading terrorist – President Ahmadinejad.

Hundreds of activists from Canada will join several thousands Iranians protesting at the United Nations to demand the arrest of President Ahmadinejad

After the press conference on Monday, Homa and several hundreds of Canadians will travel to New York City to protest at the United Nation where they will demand the arrest of the Iranian President Ahmadinejad.

Location: In front of the United Nations
Date: Tuesday, September 19, 2006, 10:00 AM

“We have three buses going to New York, as well many cars and minivans, said Homa, “please contact us if you want to join the protest of this terrorist from Iran”.

About the Campaign

Homa Arjomand is the Coordinator of the International Campaign Against Sharia Court in Canada. She started her campaign in Toronto in October 2003 with a handful of supporters, and today it has grown to a coalition of 87 organizations from 14 countries with over a thousand activists. In February 2006, the Ontario Government passed legislation which ended the use of religious laws for family arbitration. Since then, the Campaign has focused its efforts on stopping political Islam globally. I wish I were closer to the U.N., because I would damn sure be participating in this. Please share with your friends and readers of your blogs. This would send a strong message to that lunatic “President” of the country that his people are sick of him and his tyrannical, brutal ways, and they want him OUT! My prayers are with everyone who will be in attendance, and I will be with them in spirit.

Here’s is the Babelfish translation of a page I found about Kurdish Iranian dissidents being tortured and killed at the hands of the Islamic Republic. Warning – there are very graphic images in the story.

Be strong, our Iranian brothers and sisters of freedom…. be strong.

I'm all for going into Darfur and helping them fight against the Janjaweed.

    AND taking out Iran.

the thing I like best about the "darfur" question when it arises, is how it conflicts with the other more common argument/lament. Usually, we are told we had no business becoming involved in other areas of the world, we should stop being the "world's police force," we have no business helping/supporting Korea/Japan/Taiwan/Israel/Iraqi/Afghani's. Then the Darfur issue arises, and America is criticized for NOT becoming involved.

Have your cake and eat the pie too, I guess.

Y'know, once upon a time I really liked the National Geographic. Great photos, scholarly text, the neat maps inserted into the magazine. But now? They've descended to putting the author's photographs of themselves on the cover. (Shudder)

In re: syntax - Obviously a student of the Proustian self-absorbed rant. Rolled up newspapers across the muzzle will serve quite nicely until it's housebroken, although I see the makings of an inveterate leg-humper. "Okay, Fideaux, outside".
  • Wow, Syntax....all the DNC talking points wrapped up into one long diatribe. Nice job! You can try to paint me a "racist" all you want with your "or are they too dark?" rhetoric (Darfur), but you are so off base it's hilarious.

Keep drinking the Kool-Aid, and if the Democrats ever regain power here, you'd better hope you've been smart enough to "keep and bear arms," which is your Constitutional right.

And what the hell is a "war pedophile?" You're quite the mental midget.

They've (by they I mean all of them and not just Iran) been saying "wiping off the map" for decades. NOW you care and if so, why suddenly NOW? It's called "catering to their base", you know, saying things to keep the ignorant in tune?

"Oh, and about Darfur… yes, we care about Darfur, but Darfur is not saying they want to wipe an entire country off the face of the map." -- and you just proved my point! You could care less about your "Iranian brothers and sisters", you care solely about an agenda of war and thats all you care about. Darfur is having an entire civilization wiped off the face of the Earth but they must be too dark for you to care unless of course, Israel tells you to care. Don't hold your breath on that one and since when did we become Israel's personal little bitch?

Currently, there is a country in the Middle East who's population is Muslim. Their population also hates America and hates Israel. Their education system is based on Sharia Law and the Islamic Scholars teach extremism, martydom and encourages Jihad against Israel and the West. This country has had undeniable ties to every terrorist or attempted terrorist act for the past 20 years with the exception of Oklahoma City Fed building. This country has numerous terrorist training camps and harbors the worst terrorists in the World and has recently granted amnesty to these terrorists including Bin Laden himself. The country is ruled by a militant leftist dictator and the citizens of this country have absolutely no rights at all and have no idea what a democracy is nor do they care. They also happen to have a nuclear arsenal that they continue to proliferate and we recently sold them a fleet of F-16 fighter jets along with other military hardware and when they claim to "wipe something off the map", they can actually do it. This country poses more of a threat to our's and Israel's national security now than Iran can ever hope to pose in 10 years. Currently, the leader of this country is attending the Non-aligned Summit" is Cuba to have great discussions about how America sucks. Ain't that just grand and you're worried about political rhetoric from an Iranian leader who's just catering to his base with the same bullshit these countries have been spewing out for the pase 50 years? Give me a f**kin break will ya?!? How about the speaker of the Parliament in Iraq saying what pretty much amounts to the exact same thing: "all violence in the Middle east is the responsibility of Israel, Jews and Zionests and the sons of Jews" and proceeded to call for Israel to be "pushed into the sea". Wanna pretend you have compassion to start a war there too? Too late! We're already there and thats the government we put there. Yeah! Maybe we should finish the first two wars before you war-pedophiles go stroking yourselves over the next one in which you can rest assured, this administration isn't getting this war as easy as they'd like because they're all draft-dodging, pink-team chicken-hawks who have not seen one single second of combat or credible military experience in their entire lives and sister...it shows! They're getting a tight leash in November and if they don't like it, impeachment! Watch for the parade of the whistleblowers.

And I'm glad you appreciate the traffic. I come here for shits and giggles.......literally!
  • Syntax, you're nothing but a loser. If you so disagree with my positions, then why do you continue to come back here? I do, however, thank you for the extra site traffic, but geez. Do you not have anything better to do?

Oh, and about Darfur... yes, we care about Darfur, but Darfur is not saying they want to wipe an entire country off the face of the map.

Go back to bed now, the grownups are trying to have adult discussions.
  • Syntax
And what about the Darfur Region? Any "Conservative Compassion" for them or are they a little to dark for that?

Oh I forgot, with Darfur, we're not pretending we care to further an agenda of war. F**k them I guess!
