The Fair Tax Rally – by Neal Boortz

by MsUnderestimated — Categories: FairTax6 Comments

Guys, I am having problems with my digital camera, so for now, I just want to post what Neal had to say about the rally last night. We are all overwhelmed, and exhilirated at the same time. He’s also got a lot of pictures his photographer shot. You shoulda been there. Perhaps you can in the future.

JUST A STUNNING SUCCESS

… and a long night, by the way. The FairTax Rally at the Gwinnett Convention Center was an amazing success. I was wrong. Thousands of people will show up, even on the night of the American Idol final show, to show their support for getting rid of our present anti-growth and anti-achievement tax code and replacing it with a simple national retail sales tax that allows people to save and invest without taxes, that allows businesses to invest in capital and labor without tax consequences, that would eliminate the tax compliance nightmare for tens of millions of Americans and American businesses, and that would constitute the largest transfer of power from the politicians to the people since this Republic was formed.

About 40 minutes before the rally was scheduled to begin I decided to take a peak at the crowd. They showed me to a darkened room above the convention center floor with a wall of windows. Friends, I couldn’t believe what I saw. Belinda and Royal were on stage entertaining an already-packed convention hall. Six giant projection screens brought the stage close to every seat … and every seat was filled with additional people lining the walls. I was stunned. These people weren’t there to see me … I’ve made plenty of appearances in Atlanta, and most folks know that I’m a big disappointment in person. They were there to show their support for The FairTax. Herman Cain joined me in that room … saw the crowd … and said that a revolution has been ignited. From his lips to God’s ears.

Some people really deserve thanks. Sean Hannity dipped into his own pocket to charter a jet to come to Atlanta for the rally. He stopped in Washington to pick up Congressman John Linder, the author of H.R. 25, the FairTax Act. Amazing guy. ABC’s John Stossel stopped by the rally after a signing for his book “Myths, Lies and Downright Stupidity.” As a reporter for ABC News John couldn’t endorse a particular tax reform proposal, but he did talk to the crowd about the abuses and absurdities under the present system. John Hoagland from Americans for Fair Taxation addressed the crowd, as did Herman Cain. Now there is one sensational speaker .. Herman Cain He brought the house down more than a few times.

A special thanks to my good friends Banks & Shane. This Atlanta-based band showed the crowd why they’ve been such a smashing success for over 30 years. The entire band donated their time to the FairTax Rally. Paul Shane wrote a FairTax song … and the crowd loved it. We’ll get it recorded and made available for downloading!

Special thanks also to Royal, Belinda and my colleague Clark Howard for their help and participation, and to the people at my flagship station, News/Talk 750 WSB for the incredible job they did setting this monster up. Promotions gurus Michael Dobson and Neil Williamson deserve special thanks … as does Assistant PD Condace Pressley. And then there’s Dash. When the traffic backed up and it looked like Sean and I weren’t going to be able to get there on time … Dash put his Long Ranger down in the WSB parking lot, picked us up, and we were there in 12 minutes.

Congressman Linder wants to take this show on the road. I’ll be anywhere we can duplicate this crowd. In a heartbeat.

It was probably one of the single most significant grassroots events I’ve ever attended in my life, and I hope it is infectious to the 4,500+ that were allowed inside (as well as the 2,000+ who were turned away). Out-STANDING!

“Galloway” Must be British for “Murtha”

by MsUnderestimated — Categories: Are You Kidding Me?, One Way Ticket to HellLeave a comment

Can you believe this? Oh, yeah… I can. This is the ULTIMATE in tolerance of free speech. We’ll see how far THIS goes!

According to the Times Online Independent for a story tomorrow, it’s “okay” to assassinate Tony Blair, according to George “turncoat” Galloway:

In an interview with GQ magazine, the reporter asked him: “Would the assassination of, say, Tony Blair by a suicide bomber – if there were no other casualties – be justified as revenge for the war on Iraq?”

Mr Galloway replied: “Yes, it would be morally justified. I am not calling for it – but if it happened it would be of a wholly different moral order to the events of 7/7. It would be entirely logical and explicable. And morally equivalent to ordering the deaths of thousands of innocent people in Iraq – as Blair did.”

The Labour MP Stephen Pound, a persistent critic of Mr Galloway during previous controversies, told The Sun that the Respect MP for Bethnal Green and Bow in east London was “disgraceful and truly twisted”.

He said: “These comments take my breath away. Every time you think he can’t sink any lower he goes and stuns you again. It’s reprehensible to say it would be justified for a suicide bomber to assassinate anyone.”

The Stop the War Coalition criticised Mr Galloway: “We don’t agree with Tony Blair’s actions, but neither do we agree with suicide bombers or assassinations.”

I’m surprised Pelosi, Kerry, Biden, et al, haven’t invited Galloway to join the American Democratic Party. What a jackass! And what the hell does he know about “moral order?”
You think the above portion is bad? Check THIS out:

Mr Galloway yesterday made a surprise appearance on Cuban television with the Caribbean island’s Communist dictator, Fidel Castro – whom he defended as a “lion” in a political world populated by “monkeys”.

Mr Galloway shocked panellists on a live television discussion show in Havana by emerging on set mid-transmission to offer passionate support for Castro. Looking approvingly into each others’ eyes, the pair embraced.

He’s over the pond, and we have our own troubles to deal with…but holy cow! Galloway (Coward-Way) is a piece of across-the-pond scum to me, and always has been. I loved it when Christopher Hitchens kicked his ass in that debate they had…

    I’m Back from the Rally

by MsUnderestimated — Categories: FairTax1 Comment

Whew! What a drive, but what an absolute RUSH of adrenaline, and an injection of pride and hope that willing Americans can come together to truly affect government change. The Fair Tax is serious legislation that deserves serious committment from grassroots organizations, and YOU need to go to the website and volunteer!

It’s been an exhausting evening and I just returned home. I will post in detail tomorrow, and have pictures from the rally.

By the way, John Stossel is GREAT! He left us with this small anecdote: 1% of the people of the world actually put change in motion; 9% of people watch the change taking place; and the other 90% wake up one day and ask “what happened?”

We ARE that 1% who are willing to take it to the street.

It’s Off to the Fair Tax Rally!

Well folks, I know I’ve been silent lately, but for those of you who know me know I’ve been going through not only a hosting service change and a server change, but also a publishing platform change, as well. Thank GOODNESS WordPress is so easy to use!

    FairTax Boox

Aaaannnyyyway, I’m goint to be attending the Fair Tax Rally tomorrow night in Atlanta, and Neal Boortz will be the local host, along with Congressman John Linder (author of HR25, SR25 – the Fair Tax bill), Herman Cain, and of course, Sean Hannity. Sean will be doing H&C from the Gwinnett Convention Center that night, and it should be FUN! Country artists, Banks & Shane, will open the show, and I’m just hoping to get some good pictures so I can post tomorrow evening about it.

Does the American public have what it takes to put aside one night of the American Idol finale to attend something that has some extremely important political and societal impact? I certainly hope so.

Well, wish me luck, and check back here tomorrow. I’ll have LOTS of pics from the Rally… hope you all go to the site, www.FairTax.org, and sign up to be a volunteer! I did, and it really doesn’t hurt one bit. Some say “why bother? nothing’s going to change.” I say to them “every change in this country, whether it be good or bad, was brought about by grassroots efforts.” So, if I don’t try and put in my 2 cents worth, I have no right to complain about the over-burdensome tax system ever again.
