There is a man serving a 55-year sentence in prison in a midwestern state for rape and kidnapping. He went into prison in 1988, and he will be out in 2 or 3 years from now. How is that 55 years? Our justice system is screwed. My "friend" has written to all of his parole boards, and he's been rejected every time, but once it's done, it's done. He's out scott-free. Granted, he'll have a criminal record, but he'll still be out living life as he sees fit. This crap is not fair. My "friend" was sentenced to a lifetime of memories & nightmares. *sigh*....
