Much Ado About Some Cartoons (VIDEO)
Yes, we’re talking about the cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed, but we’re also talking about a very popular animated show called South Park, shown on what’s now being called “Cowardly” Central. It was a 2-part show – part one showing on April 5, the 2nd part on the 12th – about another cartoon, “The Family Guy” that is supposed to commit the “heinous” act of depicting Mohammed.

Everybody all over the net for the past couple of weeks has been talking about the South Park episode that was supposed to show the prophet. Michelle Malkin has had the most coverage of it that I’ve seen, video from the 2nd episode, and the New York Post even ran one of her articles about it. Heck, it’s even caught the attention of the “Talkmaster,” a.k.a. Neal Boortz, who made the WorldNet Daily article about it one of his “Reading Assignments” today. And just like the wimpy Euroweenies, Comedy Central decided it would be in the best interest of the network to not show that part, much to the chagrin of Tray Parker & Matt Stone, creators of South Park.

Rightly so, they put together a replacement episode, and it showed even more offensive material…depictions of Jesus defecating on President Bush and an American Flag. Am I offended? Yes… but not at what you think. I’m offended at Cowardly Central for not having the balls to stand up to the politically-correct national conscience we’ve grown. But wait… politically correct? They offended Christians! Oooooh, that’s right! Only other religions and cultures are sacred – not our own. We’ve been shown over and over that it’s okay to offend Christians or Americans in general, but you can never EVER offend Muslims, Mexicans, or whatever other “oppressed” minority the ACLU chooses to stand and fight for.
Does anybody else besides me see the insanity that is playing out before our own eyes? Too bad that a couple of cartoon characters have to point it out for us.

It’s so very sad that we, as a society, do not want nor choose to see the reality of it all. Heck, some claim to not even be ready to see the movie depicting the TRUTH of what happened on United Flight 93 on September 11, 2001. As I’ve said before, it’s not only NOT too soon.. it’s long overdue! A reader of mine wrote a comment about that, and said “It’s better to relive it on film now, than relive it in life again.” That is truly some sage wisdom.
If we don’t face up to the realities of the world in which we live, we are doomed as a society if we ignore them as history will most certainly repeat itself.
I was going to make three separate posts about this subject – one for each video segment I have from the April 5th episode – but I’ll just link them all here. I applaud Parker & Stone… I just wish the execs at Cowardly Central would have grown a pair instead of caving.

Here’s video one, with the town-folk talking about a “plan” on how to cope with the upcoming “Family Guy” episode that is due to come out – the “bury our heads in the sand” plan.

And here is a clip showing the Chief Exec. (the President) begging the Fox Exec to not show the episode.

Lastly, as Cartman and Kyle are racing on their BigWheels to the Fox Studios to demand the “Family Guy” show be pulled, Kyle displays incredible wisdom and is the only one who really makes any sense about what kind of message this appeasement is sending to the world. Cartman aptly calls it “Simple Television Economics.” Sad how true that is.

I find it only apro pos to end this with another favorite Reagan quote:
“Our forbearance should never be misunderstood. Our reluctance for conflict should not be misjudged as a failure of will. When action is required to preserve our national security, we will act.”
– Ronald Reagan
Unfortunately I believe Reagan was right. I fear it’s going to take another 9/11 for us to get our shi* together and fight for our very survival. It’s just too bad that we’ve remained the Silent Majority and not really stood up to the peace-at-any-price crowd. We have become “Muzzled” by our own tolerance.
