Awww, poor Dick is human, too, just like you and I. Well, here's some news: you and I would have had to speak with the local authorities if we accidentally shot someone. Cheney's Secret Service agents would not allow this to happen after his accident.

The irony of the situation is that all Dickie had to do was be open and honest about the situation, address the media, not hide behind Secret Service for 18 hours, maybe even (gasp)...apologize to his friend...AND THERE WOULD BE NO CONTROVERSY.

Hey, if you shot your friend...even if it was an accident...wouldn't you say, "gee, pal, I'm sorry I shot you"????
